He was a player that Liverpool were very heavily linked with signing during the summer window, but his massive asking price was a real problem for the Reds, and in the end, the decision was not made to make a move for the striker.

Now Varandas opened up on whether Arsenal and Liverpool-linked Viktor Gyokeres will leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window. – Sporting president Varandas said: “It’s very, very difficult. Impossible is nothing in life so I can’t say that… but I’d say very, very difficult and complicated”.

Look, Gyokeres is a quality striker that could have been a great signing for LIVERPOOL – he will come at a risk for many clubs as the Premier League is alot better than the Portuguese League.

But with the new financial rules – it will be interesting to see if clubs are willing to pay that big money for the player in the coming transfer windows as he does have the potential to go on and become one of the best strikers in the game.

We are not sue which striker is top of the lost for Arne Slot – but Gyokeres is certainly a player that has the ability score 30 or 40 goals a season for the Reds if signed

VAN DIJK REPLACEMENT LINED UP-

Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck amid the uncertainty over Virgil van Dijk’s Anfield future.

At the very beginning of the summer window, LIVERPOOL lost Jurgen Klopp and quickly replaced him with Dutchman Arne Slot, who has a big reputation in the game of football.

That also led to all sorts of speculation and rumours in the media that Slot would be backed by the board and will be able to sign a number of players to help him play the kind of football that he likes, but so far, no signing has been made.

However – the club have not yet been able to agree a new deal with one of their star players as The Dutch centre-back’s current deal expires next summer, and there has been alot of speculation that he could leave the club.

Now – according to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are interested in Dortmund defender Schlotterbeck if Van Dijk does not extend his contract. The report adds the Reds are prepared to pay around €50 million (£42m/$54m) for the 24-year-old next summe

The Dutchman recently confirmed that his representatives are in talks with Liverpool over a new contract, however, he continued to remain tight-lipped on his future.

Speaking to The Athletic, the 33-year-old said, “I can say obviously discussions are ongoing, but I don’t know, we will see what happens in the future. My full focus is on Liverpool, wanting to win games that are ahead of me and nothing else. What the future will bring I have no idea at the moment. I can only tell you that discussions have been started and we will see.

“I feel very good, physically, mentally and I am having fun. Discussions are ongoing with the right people and when it’s time to make a decision or whatever, I think you guys (the media) will know it as well.

‘But now my full commitment and focus is on LIVERPOOL and to be successful this season. My own form is fine. I will let others do the talking. I don’t want to talk about myself. It is not me who is not conceding, it is all of us who are not conceding.”

NDOYE READY TO JOIN –

Dan Ndoye, who plays his football for Bologna in the Serie A has opened up and claimed that he would be open to the idea of joining Liverpool in the coming windows.

Right now LIVERPOOL are not too worried about signing players – but there has been alot of speculation surrounding the future of star man Mohamed Salah – who is leaving the club at the end of the season.

Salah is in his final year of his contract at Liverpool – but has no intention of agreeing a new contract – meaning that some big names have been mentioned over the past few months as possible replacement for the Egyptian ace.

But now Dan Ndoye, who plays his football for Bologna in the Serie A has opened up and claimed that he would make the move to Liverpool – as quoted by Sky Sports CH.

“I don’t put any barriers on myself! At school, when people told me it was impossible to become a professional footballer, I didn’t listen to anyone.”

“In the end, I’m here today. Really, I’ll never put any barriers on myself. I work to play in my position in a world-class club because I know I have the ability.”

Ndoye has not really set the Serie A alight in a way that would impress the Liverpool scouts – He had just one goal in 32 appearances in the Italian league last season and is yet to find the net this time around.

It is probably a dream for him that he makes the move to LIVERPOOL – but the Reds will want to sign a player that can score 30 goals a season and that has the ability to win big games.

Salah could be very hard to replace that is for sure.
