£55 million striker reveals happiness to be linked with Arsenal move!

Arsenal were keen to bring Benjamin Sesko to London this summer, and he has admitted that he has been very happy to be linked with a move to the Premier League

The 21-year-old scored 18 goals in all competitions last season and Arsenal alongside Chelsea were ready to trigger a £55m release clause and try to solve their need for a striker over the next few months, but that all ended last week after Sesko decided to sign a new long-term deal with Leipzig instead.

It means that ARSENAL and Chelsea will now have to switch their transfer targets over the next few months, while Sesko is set to feature in Slovenia’s Group C showdown with England on Tuesday.

And ahead of that big game – the striker has now opened up and revealed that he has been very happy to hear all the transfer speculation surrounding his future – Speaking to SunSport, he said: “To be honest, with the pressure, I put it on the bright side.

“It’s a good kind of pressure. If you have the opportunity where people can talk about you, doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad, there’s something about you and it means I have done something good in the past and people are talking about it.

“I always put it on the bright side and I am happy to be a part of this.

“It’s definitely a good chance for me to play in this type of tournament. I’m really proud of myself to be a part of the team and be here and for the experience and the self-growth.

“It’s really important for me and for my career in general. It’s been an amazing time and I’m looking forward to more of this.”

Sesko could have been a great signing for either Chelsea or ARSENAL – but it was the right decision to agree a new contract and stay put for at least another season – it is as simple as that.
