Sevilla ‘will not get in the way’ of Liverpool completing massive £65 million summer Carlos deal
Sevilla are open to selling Diego Carlos to Liverpool this summer with Jurgen Klopp keen to sign him according to a report.
Liverpool may have one of the best defences in the game right now, but there is a feeling that Jurgen Klopp is not completely happy with his back-line and will look to improve that area of the pitch when the summer transfer window opens up, especially as Dejan Lovren looks set to leave.
Lovren may be a big part of the Liverpool side, but there is a feeling in the media that he is not trusted by Klopp and the German coach will look to sell on and bring in an adequate replacement that can do a much better job, someone like Carlos.
Now HITC cite Marca as saying that Sevilla would apparently not stand in his way, if the Reds did submit a sizeable offer in the summer.
The 27-year-old Brazilian has been a key player for Sevilla, but the Spanish club may be looking to cash-in, as they aim to raise funds to balance the books and improve on a few key areas of the pitch themselves.
Despite reports in the media suggesting that he has already been contacted by Liverpool about a possible summer move, the Brazilian recently insisted he’s not received any information from his agent regarding a potential switch to Merseyside.
Asked whether he’s received a ‘call’ from the Reds, Diego told Estadio Deportivo: ‘So far, my agent has not spoken to me about those situations.
‘I am not interested to know about other teams. ‘I always tell him that, if he is going to tell me something, that it be something firm, that he does not come to me with stories, because I must have my head focused on Sevilla.
‘I don’t want those things to cause me a distraction.’
Diego added: ‘I’m very happy at Sevilla. ‘I really like the club and the city. The city is wonderful. We love it, my family and me.
‘Coming to Seville is already taking a very big leap. ‘If I ever leave Sevilla, it would be to go to a much bigger club, because Sevilla is already great.’
Carlos has been impressing over in La Liga and if Klopp wants him, who are we to say whether or not he is good enough for the German who has turned a lot of top-class players into world class players over the past few years.
