Arsenal star ‘excited’ about incoming £63.7 million signing

Gunners defender Myles Lewis-Skelly could not hide his excitement at the news that ARSENAL have finally agreed to bring Viktor Gyokeres to the Emirates on a five-year deal, and end one of the longest running sagas of the transfer window so far.

It has been a very busy summer for Arsenal already, Martin Zubimendi has been their biggest arrival in a £55m move from Real Sociedad, with Noni Madueke joining from Chelsea for £52m.

Christian Norgaard left Brentford and completed a £15m switch, and Kepa Arrizabalaga departed Chelsea for £5m, while Cristhian Mosquera is poised to join from Valencia in an £18m deal to take Arsenal’s spending to over £200m

Gyokeres had also been linked with Manchester United in a move that would reunite him with former Sporting head coach Ruben Amorim.

However, the ex-Coventry centre-forward only had eyes on joining Arsenal, who have needed to make a big-name striker signing after missing out on the title once again.

Sky Sports understands the Gunners have agreed a €63.5million [£55m] deal with €10m [£8.7m] in add-ons for the Swedish striker, and the forward will now fly in over the next 24 hours to complete his move to the Emirates.

In a video posted by academy defender Josh Nichols on his Instagram story, Myles Lewis-Skelly is seen gleefully holding his phone at the news that Gyokeres is now coming to the club after both clubs agreed a fee.

IcFootballnews Says…

Gyokeres is just the type of striker that ARSENAL have been needing for the last few seasons, he really is one of the best in world football a forward that has already proven that he can score 50 goals a season.

This is a great signing for Arsenal, and a real statement from the club in their quest to win that Premier League title
