Arsenal star told Potential summer exit ‘is just business’ as rumours continue!
Former Arsenal man Alan Smith has delivered his verdict on Arsenal potentially cashiing in on academy graduate Eddie Nketiah this summer.
The academy graduate has played a big part in the Arsenal squad this season, but has largely found himself on the bench on a weekly basis under Mikel Arteta.
It is no secret that ARSENAL are eyeing up a striker this coming summer window – which means that Nketiah would fall even further down the pecking order at the club – and that has led to speculation that he is a player that the Gunners are willing to sell.
That has led to reports that the likes of West Ham and Newcastle are interested in a move for the player, as both clubs knows that they need to add another striker to the attack, although that £30 million asking price is a bit high.
Now – amid the speculation – and Speaking to Prime Casino, he said: “Eddie Nketiah is another one who has climbed up through the ranks. I’ve got a lot of time for him; he’s a good finisher. He’s another player who a club would think could do a job and score 15 goals at least in the Premier League.
“He’s probably capable of doing that and would fetch good money as well. You never like to lose these academy products because you’ve put all this care, attention and love into them only to wave them goodbye.
“It’s a bit of a sad time when you sell an academy player, but it’s just business at the end of the day and you can’t let your emotions get in the way.”

Nketiah is a very good young forward that has proven himself over the seasons – but he is just not the 20 goals a season forward that Mikel Arteta needs.
If an offer of £25 million arrives in the coming window – then the ARSENAL board should definitely take it.
