Striker releases statement about possible Man United move, Solskjaer working on transfers, £30m transfer message sent, United told to sign world class duo
Here is a roundup of the latest Manchester United news from icfootballnews.com
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists Manchester United are working on January reinforcements after a miserable 2-0 home defeat to Burnley.
UNITED UNITED are one of the biggest teams in the game right now and it is hard to watch such a massive club perform so poorly on a weekly basis, but the hierarchy need to pull the fingers out their arses and get the players the club, and Solskjaer needs.
Jermaine Pennant has urged Jade Bellingham to ignore a move to Manchester United this month.
Bellingham, 16, has broken into the Blues first-team this season, making 25 Championship appearances so far, and he has scored four times, including in the 1-1 draw with Cardiff this month.
His impressive performances at such a young age have grabbed the attention of Premier League clubs, with UNITED believed to be eyeing up a sensational £30million move for the midfielder.
However, Pennant has warned the youngster about making a move to United, telling TaLKSPORT: “It’s difficult, it would be so hard for Jude to turn down a move to Manchester United, but is it going to halt his career? ‘At 16 Ole is not going to throw him into the first XI, he’ll be in the squad but he won’t be starting. How many games is he going to play?
‘Now he’s a regular at Birmingham in the Championship. This is good football, it’s a very difficult league. It’s more demanding than the Premier League and he’s 16 and holding his weight. He’s putting in tackles, he’s strong.
‘When I saw him, I thought there’s no way he is 16, what has he been taking, can I have some of that?!
‘He’s diving in, he’s putting his foot in and he’s not scared. He’s got skill as well, he’s got the ability. He’s two footed, he’s scoring goals and creating goals – he’s a fantastic talent.
‘He’s a tall player now, so he’s only going to get bigger, he’s going to get wiser, stronger, and quicker. I’m surprised other teams are not looking at him as well.
‘But my advice to him would be to stay at Birmingham for another season, or at least for the rest of this season. Continue playing, keep playing first-team football, demanding football and it will do wonders for his career moving forward.
‘Rather than moving to Man United and hitting a brick wall, going from playing every week to just floating about training and wondering when he’s going to play.’
Moussa Dembele has told Manchester United that he is likely to stay at Lyon this transfer window.
United may have splashed the cash during the summer transfer window and improved a number of areas of the pitch, but with the loss of Romelu Lukaku, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer failed to dive into his transfer kitty and land a striker that could land 20-30 goals a season.
Solskjaer was heavily linked with a summer move for the very impressive Dembele, who has become one of the most sought after young strikers in the game, but a firm move failed to materialise as Lyon reportedly wanted far too much for a deal to take place.
But his performances this season and the United’s keen-ness to add another striker to the front-line meant that interest in the young man as once again on the agenda for the Red Devils, as reports suggested that were willing to pay around £50 million to try and secure a transfer deal.
But the English giants have been dealt a blow after Dembele come out and announced that he will be staying at Lyon this transfer window, he said on the Daily Express: “I am a Lyon player and I will remain so until the end of the season.
“I do not think that there will be a departure this winter.
“Lots of things are being said. It is up to me to ignore that and remain concentrated on the pitch.”
United are one of the biggest clubs in the game right now and it is a shock to see that they do not have a world class striker in the squad that will score the goals on a regular basis, but even though Dembele is a talent, he is not ready to be the clubs main man just yet.
So United should wait a few years, see how he develops and then make a firm offer to try and acquire the young mans services and Solskjaer should turn his attentions to a more established striker that will send a real statement to the rest of the Premier League, and Europe.
But the lad is talented and United should make a move in the coming seasons.
Darren Fletcher has told Manchester United to sign Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani in order to save their season.
United have been linked with so many players over the last few months that fans have become sick of all the transfer speculation surrounding the club, but there is a feeling that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to sign some players in order to save his season.
UNITED are in danger of being cut adrift in the race to reach the Champions League after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Burnley on Wednesday, with a number of injuries effecting the performances of the Red Devils.
And Fletcher has urged the board to buy this month to replace the likes of injured duo Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay or risk losing out, with both Cavani and Fernandes on the shopping list of the club.
Cavani is almost certain to leave PSG after handing in a transfer request last week, with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona reportedly interested, while constant reports in the media have suggested that United cannot agree on a fee for Fernandes who is reportedly desperate to make that big move to Old Trafford this month.
“It’s a road they didn’t want to go down because they’ve been down that road before but maybe needs must at this time,” Fletcher told BBC 5 Live.
“Probably a striker as well, [they need to sign] Bruno Fernandes and a striker. It’s at that case in time.
“If Cavani is available, there’s talk of him going to Chelsea – Manchester United can’t allow Cavani to go to Chelsea.”
Look, UNITED need to add some top-class talent to the side and although Cavani may be coming towards the back end of his career, he is a man that knows how to score goals and could be a great short-term solution.
Fernandes is a brilliant attacking midfielder that has the ability to also find the net, and United need to wrap up a deal for this man because he will be a fantastic addition to the United side.
