Solskjaer impressed! Man United boss opens up on possible £34 million signing Maguire
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Harry Maguire for his work in the penalty area, amid talk of a possible Manchester United move.
Maguire become one of the most talked about defenders in Europe after impressing for England during the world cup and his performances caught the attentions of a number of top Premier League sides, with United also keen to acquire his services.
Former boss Jose Mourinho was desperate to improve the back-line and constantly admitted that he wanted to sign a new defender before he got the sack earlier in the season and replaced by boss Solskjaer.
Solskjaer has been impressive as boss of United and has won nine of his ten matches as boss of the Red Devils, but the energetic side, positive attitudes and excitement surrounding the future of the club means that he is in a strong position to become permanent boss in the summer, and also plan for possible signings.
And he has reportedly dropped a hint that he could be interested in a deal to sign Maguire in the summer after admitting how impressed he has been by the Englishman.
“And I think that Harry Maguire has got a magnet on his head because it nearly always drops to him,” he said o the Daily Express website.
“A fantastic player in the box. So we knew we had to defend against him and out lads, they blocked, put their bodies on the line so it was a fantastic effort and they were fighting for each other.”
Maguire was among the defenders linked with United last summer.
Here is what we think on Maguire.
Maguire is almost ready to make that step up and play for a side like United, so maybe a move should be made by Solskjaer, as the Englishman would improve the United back-line.
