Red Devils boss Solskjaer opens up on Pochettino links to Manchester United
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted there is a reason why Manchester United are lining up a move for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.
After building one of the best attacking sides in the Premier League, there has been alot of speculation in the media that United are desperate to tempt Pochettino to Old Trafford and lead the club back to the very top of the game.
And despite the fact Pochettino has admitted that he could finish his career at Spurs, he has been installed as one of the favourites to become Manchester United’s next permanent manager.
Now Solskjaer admits he can see why the Argentine is an attractive candidate, even though he would love to keep the job at Old Trafford.
“He has done a very good job,” Solskjaer said on the Sky Sports website.
“That speculation is there for a reason because he has done well.”
Can United stil tempt Pochettino away in the summer?
United are one of the biggest clubs in world football and managing them would be a great honour for most clubs, but right now Spurs are a more attractive side that United and have the better players to go with that.
Pochettino is building something special at Spurs and would like to see that out, while also winning some silverware for the club, so it will be very difficult to prise him away from Spurs at the end of the season.
However, Chairman Daniel Levy is a business man and if United offer something that cannot be turned down, then Pochettino will consider the challenge at United.
