RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick has urged Chelsea target Timo Werner not to join Liverpool in the summer.
It is no secrte that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the 22-year old German star and reportedly tried his best to get a deal done in the January transfer window, in a bid to provide competition for Roberto Firmino and strengthen the Reds’ attacking options.
However, Leipzig did not want to let their prized asset leave halfway through the season and Werner decided to stay, with many in the media suggesting that he could make the move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window, with Liverpool and now Chelsea keen on a deal.
Chelsea may have signed Gonzalo Higuain in the January window, but they are looking for a more long-term signing and reportedly see the speedy German as an ideal signing.
And the Blues have been given a huge boost after Rangnick says Werner – who has 14 goals for club and country this season – should be wary of joining him at Anfield.
“Keita was an outstanding player here, but he’s still struggling in Liverpool ,” the manager told Sky Germany.
“So far, he’s not the player there that he was here. The surroundings must be right for Timo. That’s the case here.”
Arsenal legend Martin Keown has urged Manchester United to appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on a permanent basis.
United are back in the hunt for a Premier League top four spot and Champions League football next season since the arrival of Solskjaer, who has won an impressive nine matches out of the ten he has managed.
But there has been alot of speculation that United will try to acquire the services of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino in the summer, as the Red Devils are massive fans of the Argentine boss and reportedly feel he is the man to bring success back to the club.
However, Keown believes Solskjaer deserves the job, telling the Daily Mail: ‘Solskjaer has done more than enough in his first 10 games as Manchester United caretaker manager to prove he should get the job full-time.
‘His team are displaying the traits of Sir Alex Ferguson’s great teams. We rarely saw that under David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.
‘United have a manager now who gets this club’s DNA. ‘Winning 2-1 at Arsenal in the FA Cup, with less than 20 minutes to go, Solskjaer went for broke and threw on Martial and Rashford to finish the Gunners off. Who does that remind you of?’
The former agent of Kalidou Koulibaly has told chasing Manchester United and Chelsea the Napoli defender could leave for less than £100 million in the summer.
Koulibaly is now considered to be one of the best defender in Europe and has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for the past six months, with Maurizio Sarri and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer big fans an desperate to improve the back-line of the side.
However, reports have claimed the £100 million asking price has put off alot of clubs as they do not believe he is worth that amount of money. But Kouliably’s former agent has revealed on French TV that the imposing defender could be available for a slightly lower figure – still a massive £87.5m – at the end of the season.
“PSG already have plenty of central defenders,” Bruno Satin told was quoted on the Sky Sports website
“Maybe he can play at No.10, they already play Marquinhos at No.6.
“But if Koulibaly leaves [Napoli], he will not come to PSG.
“His transfer could cost €100m (£87.5m).”
Liverpool and Arsenal are set to suffer a blow in their chase for Marcus Rashford, as he is all set to sign a new deal with Manchester United.
Rashford has endured a difficult season this year for United, having fallen out of favour with former United boss Jose Mourinho, who claimed that the Englishman didnt have the ability to score goals on a regular basis.
His frsutrations on the pitch and with Mourinho led to speculation that the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool could swoop in and offer him a way out of Old Trafford with an offer in excess of £100 million, with reports suggesting both clubs are extremely interested in a potential deal.
However, the England international has played a starring role since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge, and the Sky Sports website has claimed he is now set to sign a big United deal that will double his current salary to around £150,000-a-week.
United hope the offer of a new deal with stave off interest from the continenet, with the Englishman in his final 18-months of his current deal.

Solskjaer has been impressive as boss of United and has won nine of his ten matches as boss of the Red Devils, but the energetic side, positive attitudes and excitement surrounding the future of the club means that he is in a strong position to become permanent boss in the summer, and also plan for possible signings.
And he has reportedly dropped a hint that he could be interested in a deal to sign Maguire in the summer after admitting how impressed he has been by the Englishman.
“And I think that Harry Maguire has got a magnet on his head because it nearly always drops to him,” he said o the Daily Express website.
“A fantastic player in the box. So we knew we had to defend against him and out lads, they blocked, put their bodies on the line so it was a fantastic effort and they were fighting for each other.”
Maguire was among the defenders linked with United last summer.
