Solskjaer opens up and tells Manchester United ‘it would be a shock if we beat Liverpool’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says it would be a shock if Manchester United went to Liverpool and won on Sunday.

Right now, Manchester United sit top of the Premier League, three points ahead of their rivals Liverpool, who are still the favourites to win the title despite all the injuries that Jurgen Klopp has seen his side pick up.

Liverpool have not lost in the league at home since April 2017 and United have not won away there since January 2016, but there is a feeling that the Red Devils will cause a massive upset and move even further away from their rivals in that chase for that title.

However, Solskjaer has admitted it would be a massive shock to beat Liverpool on their own ground: “If you look at the last few seasons I think it would be an upset and it would be a shock,” Solskjaer said. “Our position at the moment is a product of all the hard work we’ve done in the training ground and what the players are putting down every single day and we probably deserve to be where we’re at at the moment.

“I don’t think many would have thought anything but an upset if we went six weeks back and beat Liverpool at Anfield. We’re looking forward to the game and hoping we can cause that upset.”

It would send a real statement if United did beat Liverpool on Sunday, but even though they are on a great run of form, Klopps men will surely still be favourites for that title?
