Soumare responds to rumours he is heading to England, Midfielder desperate to make Old Trafford move, Man United star gets ripped
Here is a roundup of the latest Manchester United news from icfootballnews.com
Reports have claimed Bruno Fernandes is desperate to make the move to Manchester United this month.
UNITED are a club that are in need of adding some new faces to the squad in order to get back challenging again, but despite all the speculation and despite all the rumours, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has failed to acquire any players this month.
But one name that is heavily tipped to sign for the club this month is that of Fernandes, who has been linked with a massive move away from Sporting Lisbon for the past 12 months after a stunning few seasons over in the Portuguese Leagues.
Fernandes had an amazing season last year for the Portuguese side and created or assisted in over 50-goals, alerting a number of clubs to his ever-growing potential and rumours that he was all set for a big summer move to the Premier League.
Sporting head coach Silas says Fernandes deserves to be playing in the Premier League and Fernandes is making his feelings known to the Sporting hierarchy, but It is thought Sporting are not totally happy with the structure of the deal and would want more money up front, but agents’ fees may have complicated the payments plan.
However, the Sky Sports news website has claimed that Fernandes is hoping that a fee can be agreed between the two clubs, as he is desperate to leave Sporting and make the move to Old Trafford this month.
The reports goes on to say that as it stands, he is in the squad for Tuesday’s Portuguese League Cup semi-final against Braga, as no deal is closer to being solves than last week.
Roy Keane has claimed that Anthony Martial ‘is not good enough for Manchester United’ after his display against Liverpool.
Liverpool closed in on a first Premier League title in 30 years on Super Sunday, beating Manchester United 2-0 at Anfield, meaning a 16-point lead and a game in hand over Manchester City, who drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
But with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United 1-0 down after a header from Virgil van Dijk, Martial surged through on goal but blasted a glorious opportunity high and wide, and that proved to be the Red Devils best chance of the game.
United rued Martial’s missed chance in the second half – an opportunity to draw the sides level and halt their bitter rivals’ title charge – but Keane thinks it speaks to a wider problem the club is facing: that he’s simply not good enough to be representing Manchester United.
‘Martial has come to Man Utd and the big strikers score in the big moments, but his miss [in the second half] sums up is career at Man Utd,’ Kean told Sky Sport
‘Excellent build-up play, but you have to hit the target. No excuses.
‘The big strikers who are remembered by the supporters hit the target and the back of the net, and that’s why that guy [Martial] is not quite good enough for Man Utd. That moment summed him up.’
Martial has once again been hit and miss this season, but he has had the brilliance of Marcus Rashford to help him out, but playing against a Liverpool side that is top of their game, will make even the best of players look average.
Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare has spoken publicly for the first time since Manchester United’s interest was announced.
The 20-year-old has had an outstanding campaign with fifth-placed Lille in Ligue 1 and is widely regarded as one of the most promising young midfielders in Europe, and his performances have also meant the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea are interested in a possible deal
Soumare was discovered by Lille sporting director Luis Campos, the man who helped unearth the likes of Anthony Martial, Fabinho, James Rodriguez, Kylian Mbappe and Bernardo Silva during his time at Monaco.
Recent reports reported that UNITED“>United sent scouts to watch the Lille midfielder in action at Dijon last weekend, when he was sent off, but as they seek to improve the side over the course of the next few weeks, they are still keen to try and acquire his services this transfer window
However, Soumare has now come out and claimed that he is not moving to England this transfer window, admitting that he fully intends to do the full season with the Lille side before considering his future.
He told L’Equipe: “I want to do a full season, yes. I feel good, my team-mates are helping me. It is not time to leave. I don’t want to leave with regrets.
“Yes, of course [I would like to leave], I have already discussed with the coach. I told him very clearly. I have a very clear idea of where I want to go in my career. I know where I am today. And that suits me.”
