OFFICIAL Arsenal announcement made – Defender is making summer move –

ARSENAL Women’s star Rafaelle Souza will depart the club when her deal expires at the end of the season.

She has made 35 appearances for the Gunners and netted a memorable goal versus Spurs at the Emirates in front of a record crowd.

However – the decision has now been made to let her depart the club during the summer window months – as thet club look to freshen up the side over the next few weeks.

The defender has penned an emotional farewell letter to Arsenal, saying: “It’s been a lovely 18 months here with Arsenal, but I feel like I’m at that point in my career where I’m 31-years-old and I need to start thinking about my next career.

“I need to think about my future. Arsenal have given me everything, but for personal reasons I need something different in my life now.

“I’m so incredibly proud to say that I’ve been able to represent this historic club.

“I’m sad that my journey with Arsenal ends here, but I’m leaving with nothing but special memories and pride over what we’ve been able to achieve together.

“I got a feeling of a truly professional and classy club and at this point I couldn’t have asked for anything more.”

Souza has been a brilliant player for the ARSENAL ladies for a number of seasons now and she will be missed by the fans and the players.

But the club have wished her the best and she will be looking to finishing her career in another League.
