Spaniard stuns Arsenal fans with sensational claim about new signing Thomas Partey
Spanish journalist Jose Damian Gonzalez, of TV show El Chiringuito, has surprised Arsenal fans with his claim about Thomas Partey.
Arsenal were in the transfer headlines for months regarding a possible move to try and sign Partey, but the fans had to wait until transfer deadline day before they could officially welcome their new powerful signing.
It is believed that he will earn a massive £200,000-a-week at the Emirates, after the Gunners board stepped up and finally agreed to meet his £45 million release clause, and many people are excited about the signing from Madrid.
Atletico Madrid are unhappy with the midfielder for leaving the club in a deadline day deal, as they did not want to let the player leave the club, and after seeing the move take place, Gonzalez reckons Thomas did not leave to improve his trophy prospects.
He was quoted on the SUN: “Thomas left for the money. Everyone, in all professions, wants to earn as much as possible, but he went for the money.
“I’ll say it now and I’ll stick by it: Atlético are a better team than Arsenal.”
Money may have played a big factor for leaving Madrid and making the move to Arsenal, but Partey wanted to play in the Premier League and Arsenal are the right club for him, they play the game that he likes.
No-one will ever know if Partey signed for Arsenal because of the money, but at the end of the day, he wants to progress and develop and leaving La Liga to make the move to the Premier League will help him achieve that.
It is arguably the best and most competitive League in world football right now, and of course, making the move here will automatically give him a much higher wage, it is also the richest League in the world.
