Sporting Director tells Chelsea ‘huge offer’ will get transfer deal done

Chelsea have been told that they will only be able to sign Gabri Veiga this summer if they make a huge offer.

CHELSEA boss Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly been promised that he will be given some more funds this transfer window to add players that he needs to be a success.

There are a number of positions that the club need to fix – and adding a new central midfielder is something that the club need to do as there are also a few players linked with moves away.

Recent reports have claimed that Chelsea are in the race to sign Veiga from Celta Vigo but they are facing strong competition from Liverpool.

Calero said: “he president [of Celta] expressed it very clearly – he is not for sale, but they are going to look to buy him from us.

“It is intuition. From now until the end of the market we do not know what will happen. It may be that a proposal arrives that we have to listen to, but as of today there is none on the table.

“There is a lot of interest, but since he took the leap and did what he did. Today we have the player and he has a return date, July 25. He is excited about his return and we are counting on him.”

SHOULD CHELSEA SPEND BIG MONEY TO GET A DEAL DONE?

Look, Veiga is a very solid midfielder that could be a very solid addition to that squad – the scouts have been watching him for a while.

Will he make a massive difference to that Chelsea squad? Not really.

Will he add some depth? Yes he will.

Will he be the man that gets the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man United worried? No he will not.

CHELSEA. need to make some impact signings this summer – they have enough players like Veiga – so they need to bring in some massive names that will take some headlines.
