French striker Anthony Martial has confirmed that he is leaving Man United this summer window.

Martial, a 30-time French international, joined the Red Devils in 2015 as a teenager from Monaco. The deal was worth an initial £36m, potentially rising as high as £57.6m.

But despite all the hype and some decent performances during his stay at Manchester United – he never really lived upto expectations at Old Trafford and has fallen well down the pecking order over the past few seasons.

The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of 2023/24 campaign and having not agreed an extension, he has announced that he will be departing

He posted on his Instagram account: ‘It’s with great emotion that I write to you today to say goodbye. After nine incredible years at the club, the time has come for me to turn a new page in my career.

‘Since I arrived in 2015, I have had the immense honour of wearing this shirt and playing in front of you, the best supporters in the world! You have been an unwavering support, through the good times and the difficult. Your passion and loyalty have been a constant source of motivation for me.

‘I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you’ve done for me. Your songs, your encouragement and your love for the club are memories that will remain engraved in my heart forever.

‘I would also like to express my gratitude to all my team-mates, technical staff and all the members of the club I have met during my 9 years here. I am proud to have been able to share these experiences with you.

Manchester United will always be in my heart. This club has left its mark on my career and offered me an incredible opportunity to play in front of you. I’m leaving to take on new challenges, I’ll always be a Red Devil and I’ll continue to follow the club’s results with passion.

‘Thank you again for everything, and see you soon.

‘With all my affection,

Anthony Martial’

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has hinted that he may have no control over exits from the club in the summer, as Man United eye up a move for Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian star has been impressive for the Toon since since his move to the Premier League just a few windows away – and has really developed into a class Premier League star.

His performances this season has led to alot of speculation that a number of clubs are interested in a potential deal for the Brazilian International – with Manchester United one of this chasing sides.

Speaking following his team’s post-season friendlies in Australia, Howe admitted that there could be some exits.

“I don’t think it will be an overhaul but I am not in control of it. Some things might happen so you don’t know. I have seen it so many times where things you don’t expect unfold. So we have to be ready to adapt,” he told ChronicleLive.

“I think the most important thing that must happen is we have a stronger squad at the end of this window when we leave it. But there’s no guarantees of that. I can only work as hard as I possibly can to make sure it happens.”

Guimaraes is a player that should be challenging for titles and playing in the Champions League – he is ready for that next big move.

There have been so many players in that Man United squad that have been pretty poor for Erik Ten Hag – but if they manage to acquire the services of Guimaraes – he could make a massive impact at Old Trafford.

However – there is so much interest in the man and with all the issues that United are having – there are better options for the Brazilian

Manchester United are prepared to offer £60m for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are in the headlines alot over the last few months as there are alot of speculation and rumours about players that could leave the club, and players that could come in and get the side challenging once again.

Rafa Varane is leaving the club once his contract at Old Trafford officially ends  – meaning that Man United will need to delve into that transfer kitty to add a new defender and Branthwaite is a man that the club wants.

According to the Daily Star, United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe could pull the plug on the deal as he does not wish to overpay for the youngster. The INEOS chief has reviewed the club’s recent transfers and has concluded that they grossly overpaid on multiple occasions in the past.

Everton director of football Kevin Thelwell recently confirmed the club will sell players this summer With Man United keen on Jarrad Branthwaite

“It is also important that I am completely candid with you,” Thelwell said in a statement.

“The reality is, given the regulations in place and the Club’s current financial position, we have to trade well. Working within such tight financial parameters makes the job extremely difficult. Whilst we want to ensure the team is as competitive as possible, we cannot lose sight of our central objective to protect the long-term stability of the Club.

“That does mean players will be sold, and also that every tool at our disposal will be used to secure new additions to the squad, including utilisation of the loan market. Both Sean and I understand the responsibility we have – and that is a responsibility which has to be our priority.

‘That may not be exciting to hear but, under our current circumstances, it is the right thing for Everton.”

Branthwaite is certainly a talent and one for the future – but £80 million for a defender that has done nothing in the game but put in some good performances is made – but that is the type of player that Manchester United like to sign.
