Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
Josko Gvardiol has suggested his Premier League dream with Chelsea is far from over after a collapsed summer move.
The Leipzig and Croatia defender was in high demand after a breakout season in Germany, and with Blues owner Todd Boehly going big in the summer market, Gvardiol was a defensive target.
A bid of £70million was reported in the media at the time, but despite all the speculation and all the rumours, the Bundesliga side stood firm and the Blues ended up signing Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana in his place.
However – the young man is still high up on the shopping list of the Blues and it is widely expected that they will go back in at the end of the season, as Boehly wants to continue the trend of spending on the best young talent around.
Chelsea have already landed Gvardiol’s Leipzig teammate Christopher Nkunku, although that deal is yet to be publicly announced, and now it seems that the Croatian International has suggested that he wants to follow Nkunku to Stamford Bridge, he said:

“Phwoar, I was confused,” he said when asked about Chelsea’s interest.
“I was really confused because one month before the window starts I was upstairs with the sporting director and he says, ‘Yeah Josko, we are not going to sell you, we need you, we believe in you’.

There is no doubt that Gvardiol is a special young talent that has all the ability to become a big time star, so if he wants to move to Chelsea and they are still interested by the summer, it will happen.
They may not have wanted to splash the cash last summer, but we can see them splashing £70 million at the end of the season, especially as they are massive fans of the man

Mourinho open to move –
It has been sensationally claimed that Roma boss Jose Mourinho is keen on making a move back to CHELSEA.
Mourinho is hailed as one of the most successful managers in the history of Chelsea and has a love affair with the club, having managed them a couple of times and winning countless trophies.
However – his last spell did not go so well with the club and he was once again let go by Roman Abramovic – a move to Tottenham and then Roma has followed – but he is still keen to move back to the Blues.
According to a reports from Italy, 60-year-old Mourinho wants to return to Chelsea. And he approached prospective new buyers of the club when they were up for sale.
Apparently, Mourinho wanted the prospective buyers to put him in charge of the club after the takeover. However, Todd Boehly and co. decided to appoint Graham Potter as the west London club’s manager.

Iomie Stanley told IcFootballnews,
“He said ‘I want to come back to the club, if you’re thinking about a new manager, I want to come back for a third spell’, so Mourinho is keen to come back to Chelsea that’s 100% true.”

Mourinho is a world class manager and has done it all, but at the end of the day guys his time at the top of the game is done. His tactics are outdated and his style of play is boring to watch.
He may want a move back to the club – but it would not be a good idea from CHELSEA to bring him back that is for sure

Potter sack this week?
Former CHELSEA player Tony Cascarino believes that Blues manager Graham Potter could be sacked this week.
Potter is rated as one of the very best young managers in the Premier League and is a man that Chelsea have big hopes that will get the club back to challenging for that Premier League and Champions League again.
However – after a good start, Potter is already under fire and tipped to be the next Premier League boss sacked after the stunning home loss to Southampton at the weekend left them 10 points off that Champions League spot.
It’s hard to imagine former owner Roman Abramovich would have allowed things to get so bad, so Cascarino is now starting to wonder if Todd Boehly’s patience will be being tested.
“If Roman Abramovich was still the Chelsea owner, Graham Potter would have been sacked on three different occasions by now,” Cascarino wrote in his column for the Times.
“His side’s first-half performance in the 1-0 home defeat by Southampton was abysmal, and losing to the Premier League’s bottom club is simply unacceptable.
“Even with Toddy Boehly’s ownership group now running Chelsea, I cannot see Potter being afforded much more patience. The club have spent more than £500 million since last summer, bringing in some of the best talent around.

“Their squad is so deep that when I am at Stamford Bridge for a game, I sometimes bump into players not in the matchday squad that would walk into the starting XI of most teams in the country.
“Boehly is clearly in a hurry to get Chelsea competing for titles again, so why would he be content to allow mediocrity under Potter? I would not be surprised if the head coach was dismissed this week.”

Look, Potter was brought in to get CHELSEA competing, and they are simply not doing that. They have all this quality put it is not working, he may not get sacked this week, but it is surely coming with another loss or two.
