Would fans welcome Rice?, Messi to thrive in Premier League, Chelsea announce Moses deal and Blues keen on Dybala in Chelsea news roundup…
Chelsea have been told to swap N’Golo Kante for Declan Rice – but would fans welcome the possible deal?
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Rice for months now with reports constantly claiming that moves have been made, talks have been opened and bids have been rejected by the Hammers, who reportedly want a massive £80 million for the England man.
He is now one of the very best holding midfielders in the Premier League, and if you believe all the reports, he is the signing that Frank Lampard wants the most to finish off his summer of spending, which has topped £200 million.
And now they have been urged to get rid of Frenchman Kante and pay the money that will secure the services of Rice, as the Hammers midfielder will be able to offer that midfield more, that is the opinion of Adrien Durham anyways.
Chelsea have been forced to deny rumours of a falling out between Kante and manager Frank Lampard that emerged in France on Monday, after Le Parisien claimed Kante, 29, wants to quit the Blues after Lampard denied him permission to skip training for a friend’s wedding before the international break.
The talkSPORT presenter said: “They’ve been thinking about bringing in Declan Rice for a long, long time.
“If you sell Kante and bring in Rice, it’s a big upgrade.
“This is someone who can do Kante’s job, and go on the attack and use the ball quickly.
“Maybe not the Kante from yesteryear. What I’m looking at is a top side trying to do stuff in Europe and in the Premier League as well.
“Is Kante too limited? Rice does more than Kante – that’s what I’m saying.”
Chelsea have confirmed and announced that Victor Moses has agreed a loan move to Russian side Spartak Moscow.
Moses made the move to Stamford Bridge from Wigan in 2012, having begun his career at local side Crystal Palace as a youth, but has never really made any sort of impact at the Bridge and has been loaned out a stunning six times during his time with the club.
But he has now agreed to head over to Spartak for the next 12 months, as he seeks to get some much needed game time, and Chelsea have released a statement on their club website confirming that the move has taken place.
“Victor Moses has joined Spartak Moscow on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign,” Chelsea revealed in a statement published on the club’s official website.
“The Russian side are 10 games into their league season and sit second in the table, level on points with city rivals CSKA Moscow.
“Spartak also confirmed the move, writing on the club’s Twitter page: “Victor Moses is a Spartak player!
“Spartak Moscow and Chelsea have agreed the transfer of Nigerian star Victor Moses to our club. The loan agreement with the 29-year-old midfielder is until the end of the season with the option to buy! Welcome, Victor!”
Chelsea are showing “concrete” interest in making a move for Juventus star Paulo Dybala, claims from Italy have reported.
Chelsea have just spent over £200 million in the summer transfer window on players that have improved all areas of the pitch, but despite that, it is claimed that Frank Lampard may seek to try and get some deals done in January.
And claims from Tutto Mercato Web have now claimed that Chelsea are showing a concrete interest in trying to sign former Manchester United target Dybala.
The Argentine has been in the transfer headlines alot of the past few months and it was even claimed that he was all set to leave the club during the summer window, but Juve had a change of heart and decided to get the attacker.
It is even claimed that he is now in talks over signing a contract extension that would keep him in Turin until 2025, but the Blues are circling should Juve fail to lock him down and are ready to offer him a massive £200,000-a-week contract if he doesnt sign with the Italians.
Look, the summer transfer window was brilliant for many Chelsea fans and the team is looking very threatening, but if Chelsea want to improve the side in the coming transfer window, then they need to add a new defender.
Manchester City and Chelsea-linked superstar Lionel Messi would have no issue adapting to any other league says Gaizka Mendieta.
Messi hit the headlines in the summer transfer window after it was revealed all over the world that he had told Barcelona that he wanted to leave the club and seek a fresh challenge in the game, as he is unhappy at the Spanish club.
That alerted the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City to a possible transfer deal, as both have been linked in the past and both are the only two clubs that are financially sound enough to meet his massive £600,000-a-week wages.
However, Both Barca and La Liga disputed his interpretation that he could leave the club in the summer on a free due to a clause in his contract, stating any potential suitor would have to pay the €700 million (£634m/$820m) release clause or negotiate a fee with Barca.
Consequently, Messi opted to remain at Barca, insisting he did not want to drag the club through the courts, but there is a feeling that he is now open to the idea of making a move to the Premier League at the end of the season, and Mendieta told Stats Perform: “Regarding what happened, it is already in the past.
“We can go into details, but Leo has always shown he is a professional. He has shown it for many years.”
Speaking while launching the Player 4 Player management group, Mendieta said: “I think all Barcelona fans, his team-mates and people who work for the club, know Leo will give his 100 per cent this season.
“Whether he leaves or not at the end of the season, the fact is he is here, he has stayed, and he will give his best. I don’t think other thoughts are correct.
“The most important thing is having him, he is a professional and he will give all as he has been given all the time. That’s the key for Barcelona and his fans.”
Messi has scored 635 goals and provided 254 assists in 734 appearances for the club and is regarded as one of the finest players of all-time.
We just love the man and Chelsea and City fans would love him in the squad, but he may only be good for one, maybe two more seasons in the Premier League, would he really be worth the hassle?
