£300,000-a-week star sent clear message about his proposed move to Chelsea this summer
Raheem Sterling has been urged not to join Chelsea this summer transfer window from man City – by Trevor Sinclair.
Sterling is a player that has won countless trophies during his time with Man City – has scored 131 goals for the Premier League Champions and is easily one of the best players in the English game
However – as Pep Guardiola looks to shake things up for next season – there are a number of players that the Spaniard is willing to let leave this summer – and Sterling is one of them
That has led to constant speculation in the media that Chelsea may be looking to try and secure a deal for Sterling – as they seek to add some more goals to an attack that struggled last season.
But now – Sterling has been told to not make a move to Chelsea as they will not be as competitive as Man City and Liverpool next season – He told talkSPORT when asked if Sterling should swap Man City for the Blues: “I would say no because I don’t think Chelsea will be competitive with Man City and Liverpool next season.
“They’ve lost players, the club is in a transitional phase where they’ve lost a lot of players and they’ve got to do a lot of rebuilding.”
Sterling brings pace – skill and goals to an attack – and that is what Chelsea are lacking right now
They have a number of exciting players at the club – but if they want to close the gap on Man City and Liverpool – then they need to start signing the best players when they come onto the market
So if they do manage to sign Sterling and do manage to get him back into the habit of scoring goals – then they will have a very fearsome player on their hands that other teams would get worried about
Chelsea are a massive club that always challenge for trophies – but getting past Liverpool and Man City for all those titles will be a massive ask
