Fans told if £300,000-a-week attacker is joining Arsenal this summer – Mikel keen on deal

Raheem Sterling has been tipped to stay at Man City and snub Arsenal’s advances – the Gunners board have been told
Sterling has been a massive part of the success that Pep Guardiola has enjoyed at Man City over the past few seasons and really has developed into a world class finisher
However – this season ha not gone to plan like he had hoped as he has had to fight off Phil Foden and Jack Grealish to get a start in that Man City squad – which has left him very unhappy with the game time he has received
Add that to the fact that Man City have signed Erling Haaland – it will mean that Sterling will struggle for game time again next season and that has led to speculation suggesting that Arsenal are ready to make a move
Mikel Arteta knows the player very well from his time at the Manchester club and if you believe all the reports – the Gunners are ready to hand the Englishman a massive contract to make the move to London.
However, amid all the speculation Steve McManaman reckons Sterling won’t want to leave City for Arsenal if the Gunners aren’t in the Champions League next season McManaman told Horseracing.net: “I can’t see Raheem going to Arsenal if they’re not in the Champions League and personally I believe he should stay at Manchester City.
“He’s brilliant at Manchester City, even though admittedly Pep Guardiola likes to chop and change.”

If Arsenal do not get into that Champions League spt for next season – then they will have a very hard time trying to get big players like Sterling to sign
Yes they have an exciting team and yes they are one of the biggest clubs on the planet – but that means nothing if they are not winning trophies and playing in the Champions League – that is what the best players want
If Sterling joins Arsenal – it will be for money – and that is what Arsenal do not want to do – sign players that are there for the big cheques
