Striker delighted after COMPLETING late move to join Man United!
Manchester United Women have completed the signing of midfielder Rebeca Bernal, with the Mexico international expressing her delight after agreeing a long-term contract with the club.
The 29-year-old has signed a contract that will keep her at Manchester United until June 2029, marking an exciting new chapter in her career and giving the Reds another experienced international option within their squad.
Bernal arrives at United with considerable experience at international level and is expected to bring leadership, composure and versatility to the midfield.
Her arrival represents another important piece of business for Manchester United Women as they continue to strengthen their squad and compete for major honours. At 29, Bernal also brings a level of experience that can be particularly valuable in a squad containing a mixture of established players and younger talents
Bernal said: “I have experienced a lot of special moments in my career; the privilege of representing Manchester United is truly incredible.
“It is clear that I am joining a great environment, Eva (Olid) is an excellent coach, and you can see the determination throughout the whole squad to be successful.
“I cannot wait to begin this new chapter; to give everything, bringing all of my experience and passion, to help push the team and fight together to achieve our ambitions.”
The length of her contract is another encouraging aspect of the deal. Keeping Bernal until June 2029 gives Manchester United the opportunity to build around her qualities while also providing the midfielder with the security needed to settle into life at the club.
Her enthusiasm for the move should also be welcomed by supporters. Players arriving with genuine excitement about representing Manchester United can quickly become important figures within the dressing room.
The biggest challenge will be adapting to the pace and demands of the Women’s Super League, but Bernal’s international background should help her make that transition.
If she can bring her experience and leadership to the team, Bernal could become an important part of Manchester United Women’s plans over the next few seasons.
