Striker signs with Liverpool – President confirms Reds talks planned – Klopp wants La Liga star
Here is a roundup of some of the top Liverpool news and gossip headlines that we think you guys may have missed –
Liverpool are being linked with a move for Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams as they seek a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Salah has been one of the best attacking midfielders in world football for LIVERPOOL over the past few seasons and a man they can really rely on when it comes to scoring goals.
Salah notched 30 goals and 16 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions last term for Liverpool – but became disappointed after the Reds missed out on Champions League football.
In total he has scored 188 goals through 309 appearances that have seen him break countless records. His efforts have helped the Reds to Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Community Shield honors.

Salah signed a new Liverpool contract just last summer (2022), keeping him at the club until June 2025 and netting him a reported wage of £350,000-a-week, but there has been some talk that he is ready to leave.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
According to Fichajes, Williams is an “attractive profile for Jurgen Klopp” who values the forward’s ability to “unbalance and contribute” to attack.
A report in the Spanish publication read: “Liverpool, led by Jürgen Klopp, is looking for a right winger who can take the place of Mohamed Salah, who is being tempted by Saudi Arabia.
“Nico Williams is presented as an attractive profile for Klopp, who values the young player’s ability to unbalance and contribute on the attack front. Salah’s possible departure would open an opportunity for Williams to shine at Anfield.”

Look, Salah is one of the best players in world football and a real source of goals for the Reds, but he really is at that age now that he will not be producing those magical numbers of 30-40 goals a season.
LIVERPOOL fans love the man and will not want him to leave, but if the Reds get £200 million in the coming windows, they need to take it.
We are not sure that Williams is ready to be an immediate replacement for Salah though.
TRINDADE GREEN LIGHT –
LIVERPOOL failed in a move for Andre Trindade over the summer, but Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt has dropped a big January hint.
Alex Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo have arrived in the summer window as Liverpool looked to revamp the side, while the Reds were also linked with the likes of Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Fluminense star Andre.
Jurgen Klopp knows that he is a man that did not manage to get all the transfer business done that he had hoped for over the summer, and will try and use the January window to add a few more new faces to the side.
Bittencourt says Liverpool got in contact over a move for the young midfielder over the summer but were quickly rebuffed, but the Fluminense chief did not rule out a move in January, in fact he said he would be keen to discuss it.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
‘Liverpool’s executive director [Billy Hogan] contacted me directly,’ the president told ESPN. ‘And I replied to him: “My friend, I don’t sell players now and I don’t deliver now”.
‘[I told him]: “If you want to buy him now to take him in January, we can start talking, or if you want to wait until December, we’ll talk in December”.’

LIVERPOOL did want the lad over the summer window and maybe they will want him in the January window, but Klopp and co. will not be ripped off and will only pay what they feel Andre is worth.
The January window is many months away anyways and there is alot of football between now and then – Klopp will not be worried about what he doesnt have and will be hoping that what he has now will improve the side.
HAUG SIGNS –
The LIVERPOOL FC Women have now signed Norwegian striker Sophie Roman Haug for an undisclosed fee
The Reds brought in Haug from Roma in a transfer of an undisclosed fee and made her the seventh signing of the summer.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
“I’m really excited to be here and I can’t wait to get started,” said Haug after being announced by the club.
“I feel like it was the right next step for me. I got a really good impression of the club and I believe they’re building something big here and I would really like to be a part of it. It’s a club with a lot of long traditions and with a lot of ambition. I really hope this season to be able to contribute with a lot of goals and I have a lot of faith that the team will do a great season.
“I’m excited to be able to play in what could be the biggest league in the world too. If we get off to a good start and get momentum, we’re going to be a tough team to beat.”
“It was my first World Cup, it didn’t go quite as we hoped, but for me personally as an experience it was very important and it’s one I’ll take on and use ahead. For me to be able to contribute with three goals was a big experience which I’m really proud of.”
Manager Matt Beard revealed that the striker was a player LIVERPOOL have been tracking for quite some time: “Sophie’s a player we’ve been monitoring for a few years now, even back to her time in Norway.” She’s a fantastic goalscorer, her movement in the box is good and she can score all types of goals.
“She obviously had a really good World Cup, coming on the back of being at Roma and being part of a team which won the league. At 24, I think we’re getting Sophie at a really good time and she’s just what we needed – a proven goalscorer who is still hungry to continue to develop and progress her game.”
