Chelsea interested in powerful German, Tuchel admits he wants this Chelsea deal done, Rakitic makes Kounde transfer admission, Chelsea to offer Man City star big contract
Chelsea interested in Sule, Tuchel ready to sign Garcia, Rakitic makes Kounde admission and Tuchel wants deal in Chelsea roundup…
Ivan Rakitic can “understand” why a big-money transfer may appeal to Sevilla team-mate Jules Kounde this summer, with Chelsea just one club reportedly interested in a transfer deal.
Despite doing a great job since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Thomas Tuchel knows that he needs to add another defender to the squad in the coming transfer window as he needs to strengthen that area of the pitch.
Thiago Silva is world class, but he is right at the end of his playing days, while Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma all need a better partner next to them to stop making the kind of mistakes they have before Tuchel arrived at the club.
And that has led to many reports in the media that the Blues are very much interested in trying to secure a transfer deal for Kounde, who is also attracting Premier League interest from Manchester City, United and Liverpool.
Rakitic believes more offers will be put on the table in the next window, with the opportunity to link up with title-chasing heavyweights holding obvious appeal to an ambitious youngster.
Rakitic has told DjMaRiiO: “A boy like Kounde, at his age, if he gets an offer from one of the biggest clubs in the world, you have to understand the kid and his situation.”
Tuchel will surely get alot of money to spend in the transfer window as Roman Abramovic will surely believe that he can guide the club back to the very top of the game, and it will be interesting to see whom he acquires.
Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule is back on the recruitment radar at Chelsea, reports have emerged over the past 24 hours or so.
Former PSG boss Thomas Tuchel arrived far too late in the January window to be able to splash a bit of cash to try and add to a squad that is firmly regarded as one of the finest in the Premier League
However, the summer window could be a very different story, as he will know that he will need to add a couple of players to the squad that will help his side reach that next level, with Bayern star Sule on the shopping list
Now reports on The Athletic have come out and claimed that the powerful German is high up on that shopping list of Tuchel.
Sule, who is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2022, has made over 20 appearances in all competitions for Bayern this season, is reportedly not happy with his current situation at the club
However, Flick provided words of support for Sule, who suffered a serious knee injury last season, and suggested that the Germany international’s ability to play in different positions in defence made him a valuable player to have in the squad.
“Niklas is an absolute option, whether in the centre or full-back position,” said Flick.
“He did well at Schalke [in a 4-0 win last month when Sule played at right-back]. Don’t forget that he had a long injury.
“Niklas is a fast player who is calm on the ball and helps shape the game from the back. Given his size, he has absolute strength and I’m glad he’s on our team.
“We will see how everything develops and how he sees his future. I am satisfied with his development, you can rely on him.”
Lets see how this all plays out ayy?
Thomas Tuchel has spoken about his dream start and future at Chelsea after reaching the FA Cup final in his first three months as the manager in west London.
Tuchel took over at Chelsea just a few months ago and since then, he has turned this Chelsea side into one of the very best in the Premier League, with reports that the Blues will be serious contenders for that title next season.
He is only at the club for the next 18 months, but after his brilliant start to life at the club, Tuchel has opened up and admitted that he is hoping to stay longer at the club: “The point is that I had these concerns [about the length of my contract] and after five, maybe 15 minutes, I said to myself that it changes nothing how many years this contract is,” Tuchel told reporters.
“I demand from myself to deliver, to have an impact and to be the best I can. So this will not change in the future. If I deserve to stay, I am super happy to stay and I will try to stay as long as possible. I feel like a part of the Chelsea family.
“The club feels super professional here, we have unbelievable quality of support, amount of support and we have a team which it is a pleasure to be at the side-line of and to fight with this team, so honestly, I don’t care what it says in my contract. I need to deserve to stay longer.
“If I deserve to stay longer, I will stay longer, no matter what it says. This is what I demand from myself and I feel free at the moment also and I feel good. I am at the right place at the right moment. Everything else will fall into its place when it is there. If I want to stay longer, I deliver week after week.”
If he carries on the way he is, he will get a new contract at the club.
Chelsea are reportedly keeping an eye on Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
Garcia has been linked with a move back to Barcelona for almost a year, but the club have reportedly struggled to agree on a fee with Man City.
The Catalan club’s presidential elections in January also delayed the signing of the 20-year-old and the Blues, who have been linked with signing a centre-back, could use this as an advantage.
The centre-back has lacked playing time at the Etihad Stadium this season and has only appeared 10 times. Regardless, he is still seen by many as one of the most promising young defenders in Europe
Garcia is a very highly-rated defender that is just stuck behind some of the best in world football, so a move would be a good idea and Chelsea could be a very good option for the lad.
