Defender announces ‘ARSENAL MY PRIORITY’ and opens door to summer move’

Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares says he is prioritising a return to North London after spending time away from the Emirates Stadium.

The 24-year-old has had a difficult spell since moving to the Premier League and made just eight top-flight appearances for Nottingham Forest during the last term. Since arriving at ARSENAL in 2021, he has had another loan away from the capital when he spent a season with Marseille in Ligue 1.

A report in the Standard in January suggested that the French side are interested in the left-back after he has become out of favour in Mikel Arteta’s side, and it has been claimed that Arsenal will be open to the idea of letting the player leave on a permanent basis.

This week however, Tavares has spoken about his future and opened the door for a potential move away from the club, but has also admitted that his priority is to make the move back to Arsenal: “My priority is to return to Arsenal. After that, only the future will tell,” said Tavares.

“Everyone knows that I have another year left on my Arsenal contract. I have people I trust looking after my future. There have been a few approaches, but I always leave it to whoever is in charge of my future.”

Tavares is done at ARSENAL – he has no future at the Emirates and should seek a move away for the sake of his career. And the money that Arsenal could get from the sale of the player should go on improving key areas of the pitch.

There will be alot more transfer rumours surrounding the player over the next few months – but we are sure that he will leave the club on a permanent basis.
