The winger has failed to put together any sort of consistency since his move to the Theatre of Dreams in the summer of 2022 and has looked nothing like the player that dominated at Ajax.

Erik ten Hag has confirmed he wants a reunion with Matthijs de Ligt at Manchester United.
The 25-year-old has struggled for game time at Bayern Munich this season and that has led to alot of speculation in the media suggesting that Bayern may be open to the idea of letting him leave this January window.
Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the Dutch defender over the past few months, but were recently knocked back after former boss Thomas Tuchel revealed that the big man would no be leaving in the winter window.
However – the Sky Sports Germany have claimed that Bayern may be open to letting De Ligt leave the club this transfer window – when they will have more of an opportunity to find an immediate replacement for the Dutchman.
Now – amid all the speculation and rumours – Ten Hag has revealed that he wants to work with De Ligt – he was quoted on the SUN: “It remains to be seen whether Matthijs de Ligt will come… I know him well.
“I wanted to sign him two years ago but at that time, he was already very far along to join Bayern. Believe it or not, his name did not come from me in the process.”
Dietmar Hamann recently claimed that it is a masterstroke if United get De Ligt – he said:
said: ““Matthijs de Ligt came to Bayern Munich, he had a tough start, then he had an injury.
“But you have to say in the last six months, he was probably the most reliable defender they had when he formed a partnership with Eric Dier.”
He added: “I think he could be a player to help him because he is a leader. I think he makes other players better. He’s very reliable. He’s quick. He’s powerful. He’s strong and a very physical player.”
RABIOT EYES PREM MOVE –
France star Adrien Rabiot has dreams of playing in the Premier League, with Manchester United linked with a move.
Man United have really struggled under boss Erik Ten Hag this season with too many of the clubs world class players going missing on a weeky basis and not putting in the kind of performances the Dutch boss needs.
It is widely expected that Manchester United will look to sign some more players in the coming weeks after adding Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee over the last few weeks, but they need to add some more quality, experience and winning mentality to the side.
Rabiot has been a player that Man United have been linked with for the last few transfer windows – he is a player that is proven at the very highest level of the game and is a player that would bring quality to that United midfield.
The midfielder is available on a free after his deal expired at Juventus, and reports on the sun have claimed that he is very interested in a move to the Premier League.
Liverpool were said to be keen but these rumours have now been rubbished.

Rabiot is a world class midfielder that could be a very good option for Man United and the fact he could be signed on a free would be massive for the Red Devils.
So if Ten Hag wants to add some more quality to that Manchester United midfield – then the Dutchman should bring the impressive Rabiot to the side over the next couple of weeks – it would be a very good decision to make.
