Erik Ten Hag has revealed that Manchester United are working very hard to get PSG star Manuel Ugarte all signed up before the close of the transfer window in just a weeks time.

Erik Ten Hag has made some big signings this summer window and added players to the side that will make a real difference in their attempts to get back challenging for that Premier League title.

Ugarte is a player that Ten Hag has wanted all summer long and Manchester United have been working on a deal with PSG for months now – but now Le Parisien now report a deal which will see Ugarte join United o a permanent basis this summer is close to being completed.

United will pay £51m for the 23-year-old, a fee very close to the one PSG parted with only last summer to sign him from Sporting Lisbon

Now Ten Hag has given an update and claimed that Man United are working very hard to get their transfer business done – he said: ‘Be patient, sit, wait, [we] keep working very hard, we will always try to make the best squad possible, we have a couple of days and we will always improve, as long as we have the opportunity we will look for it,’

Quizzed specifically on Ugarte, ten Hag added: ‘When we have news we will bring it.’

Ten Hag has seemingly got all the players that he feels will improve the side this summer and Ugarte is no different – he is a quality midfielder that could make a big impact at Old Trafford.

We are sure that when the deal is officially wrapped up by Man United – Ten Hag will be delighted – the Manchester United fans will be delighted and to be honest – many pundits will be happy about the signing of the midfielder.

He will need time to adapt to the quality of the Premier League – but he is certainly a player that could have a great time of it in Manchester.

UNITED FREE SIGN BARCA STAR – 

Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen has been linked with a return back to the Premier League, after reports emerged that the Manchester United target has bene put on the transfer list.

The 27-year-old, who made 161 appearances for Chelsea between 2014-2022, joined Barca on a free transfer 18 months ago after he decided that he wanted to leave the Blues and test himself with the Spanish giants.

He has been a relatively big part of that Barcelona side ever since his move and has even featured in over 20 La Liga games this season, according to Spanish outlet AS. The Catalan giants are close to offloading Ilkay Gundogan back to Manchester City, and are now open to offers for former Chelsea defender Christensen.

It has been said that Manchester United, West Ham and Newcastle are the three clubs that have expressed an interest in the former Borussia Monchengladbach loan star.

However it remains to be seen whether the centre-back would be willing to return to England as he has no desire to leave the Camp Nou and will only depart should he get forced out.

We are not saying that the Red Devils can definitely get the player – but there may be a chance for them to get Christensen for a bargain and add some more quality to that back-line, which has looked a bit dodgy at times this season.

We would not be shocked to see him staying at Barcelona – as he is happy – but there is genuine interest from the Premier League and a move back would give him the chance to prove himself once again in the English game.

IVAN TONEY CLAIM MADE – 

Former Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew feels Manchester United could be the best fit for Toney given they have the ‘room to take him’ and require a proven goalscorer with ‘experience’.

Iven Toney has been linked with all the big clubs this transfer window as many feel that he is ready to play at the very highest level of the game, and a move to Manchester United has been talked about in the media.

It is thought that the Bees are demanding at least £50m for the England international – but United want a ‘PSR-friendly deal’ which would initially see them take Toney on loan.

Now amid all the speculation and rumours – Pardew has claimed that a move to Manchester United would be a good one to make for Ivan Toney: ‘I think of all the top clubs, the one that stands out for me in Manchester United,’ he told TalkSport

‘I think that might be the club that have got the finance and the room to take him. They’ve got a young striker, they need someone with experience and I think that could be the place.’

Pardew has also claimed that he would be a great signing for any club that manages to snap him up this summer.

‘The thing I like about Ivan Toney is that he puts a statement on the pitch when he plays,’ Pardew told TalkSport

‘Whenever I spoke to my centre-halves, that’s the sort of player they always hated playing against: physical, running down the sides, aggressive, long arms, long legs, can’t get around him, he’s up for every minute of the game, he’s always going across the front.

‘I really like him and he think he’s a great signing. Where his destination is, we’ll have to wait and see.’
