Legendary Chelsea Captain Terry reacts to world record Kepa deal and Courtois departure!
Chelsea legend John Terry has reacted to the last summer transfer deals including Thibaut Courtois and Spanish sensation Kepa Arrizabalaga, who replaced the Belgian superstar.
In a relatively quiet transfer window for the Blues in which there was constant speculation and rumours about who would be signing and who would be leaving, new boss Maurizio Sarri managed to keep hold of two of his biggest stars and also bring in four new faces.
Both Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante were both linked with summer moves to Real Madrid and PSG, and both seemed to show a desire to pack their bags and jump on a plane to their chasing clubs.
But after a meeting with Sarri, both have decided to stay for now and have been encouraged by the signings the club managed to bring in, with Kepa, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Rob Green all signing up for the Blues revolution.
And one of those names that has arrived is Kepa, who is one of the most highly-rated stoppers in world football and has been tipped to become one of the greatest of his generation.
His arrival at the club has not gone unnoticed to legendary leader Terry, who took in Instagram to welcome the new arrival, although he is sad to see Courtois leave the club.
He posted: “Luck @thibautcourtois in your new chapter @realmadrid.
“A great man and for me the best keeper in the world 💙👊🏻 @chelseafc
“We welcome @kepaarrizabalaga to our club and hope he can be as successful as you and @petrcech 💙”
Kepa does have big gloves to fill as Courtois is one of the top three stoppers in world football, so he will need to adapt to life in the Premier League very quickly as it could overwhelm him if he is not careful.
