Hickey addresses the Gunners rumours – Arsenal told to sign Martinez and Tielemans to sign in Arsenal news of the day….

Bologna’s Scottish defender Aaron Hickey has opened up about speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal.

With the transfer just a few weeks away now and Mikel Arteta a man that wants to improve key areas of the pitch – there has been alot of speculation about the players that he wants to bring to London

The defence needs a new defender – he wants to add something different to that midfield and it is widely believed that two new strikers will try to be signed by the club – if he gets the money

And The Gunners have been linked with a move for the full-back, who has impressed in Serie A this campaign, are are reportedly readying an offer in the £30-40 million mark in hope that they can complete a deal for the player

And amid all the speculation, Hickey has opened up and addressed all the speculation – and has admitted that he is quite flattered by the interest from the Gunners: “I do see quite a lot of talk,” he told Sky Sports.

“One of my friends text me today saying ‘what’s happening here, lad?’ They’re sending me stuff for transfers and talks, but it’s nice to know there’s interest of other clubs.

“It gives you some confidence and stuff. You just keep your head down and focus in football.”

We do not know much about the quality of Hickey and we do not know if he will be a good addition to that Arsenal side. But he has been impressive this season and is almost ready to make a move to the Premier League

But for now he should stay put – get the minutes that he been – develop even more as he has a bright future in the game and doesnt need to move to a big club and sit on the bench more often than not

Martinez to Arsenal?

Kevin Campbell has told Arsenal to sign Inter Milan’s in-demand striker Lautaro Martinez this summer transfer window

It is no secret that Mikel Arteta could not have any strikers in his squad at the end of the season as Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah could both follow Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of the door

That means that the Spaniard will need the backing or the board to sign a forward that has real potential to go and bang 30 goals a season for the club, and that has led to reports that Martinez is a man that the club would like to sign

Martinez is regarded as one of the finest strikers in the game right now and a player that has been tipped for a big money move in the coming window – with a whole host of clubs linked with a move

Now, Campbell has told a side which has scored just 54 league goals this season – that Martinez is the goal-getter his old side are looking for, Speaking to Football Insider, he said: ‘Martinez is a finisher, that is what he is. Arsenal do create a lot of chances.

‘Let’s be honest, Arsenal have played the season without a lethal striker. (Pierre-Emerick) Aubameyang went off the boil, (Alexandre) Lacazette went off the boil and (Eddie) Nketiah isn’t the answer.

‘They have been relying on (Bukayo) Saka, (Emile) Smith Rowe, (Martin) Odegaard and (Gabriel) Martinelli notching goals. They have been relying on the youngsters.

‘We need a regular scorer at the top end of the pitch for next season. I think Martinez would be an exceptional signing. I think he’s mustard.’

However, despite all the speculation – Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano has opened up and announced that the striker has no intention of leaving Inter Milan during the summer transfer window

Hetold Radio Cologne, via HITC: “Sometimes the press talks about his possible transfer but he only thinks of Inter.

“We’re not looking for a negotiation to take him elsewhere. He’s happy at Inter, the city is wonderful. He’s only focusing on Inter.

Lautaro is growing as a footballer. Let’s not forget that he is still 24 years old. He is already establishing himself as one of the best strikers on the international scene.

“A new generation of forwards is appearing, of which Lautaro is a part.”

Tielemans To Sign?

Arsenal are closing in on a £40million deal for Leicester star Youri Tielemans, it has been claimed in the media today

With all the reports that Mikel Arteta is a man that knows he needs to add a bit more Premier League quality to the squad in the transfer window, there has been alot of speculation about players that could be arriving at the club

Tielemans is expected to leave Leicester City this summer when he will have just a year remaining on his current contract, and Arsenal are among the Premier League clubs who have been linked with a move

And according to reports on the SUN – there is growing confidence from the player’s camp and the Emirates club that Tielemans will be an Arsenal player next season.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta wants to boost the quality and depth of his midfield options this summer, and Tielemans would be an upgrade on both Granit Xhaka, whose future at the Emirates is uncertain, and Mohamed Elneny, with his contract expiring this summer.

The report adds that Leicester are all but resigned to selling the man whose goal won them the FA Cup last season.

Amid all the speculation, former Gunners star Kevin Campbell recently claimed Tielemans is the midfielder who Mikel Arteta will target as his team are already well stocked in the attacking midfield position after bringing in Martin Odegaard last summer for £30m.

Speaking to Football Insider, Campbell said: ‘I think Youri Tielemans is the one they will be looking at.

‘I could be wrong on that but I think the ship has sailed with Maddison. We have Odegaard now so spending another £50 million on an attacking midfielder, I just don’t see it.

‘Tielemans is a player Arsenal need. He has a different game to Maddison.

‘I’m sure Arteta will see him as our type of player. For me, Tielemans is the one and I hope we can get that deal done in the summer.’
