Arsenal news: Hard-working star sends message to fans after OFFICIALLY completing move

Kieran Tierney has revealed his delight after officially completing his loan move to Real Sociedad.

The 26-year-old Scotland international joined ARSENAL for £25m from Celtic in 2019, and has gone on to feature 124 times for the club, scoring five goals.

However – since the arrival of Oleksander Zinchenko to the squad at the beginning of last season – he has fallen well down the pecking order at the Emirates and was no longer considered to be a regular game player.

Arsenal have confirmed that he has now made the loan move to Real Sociedad in La Liga and he has now sent a message to the Gunners fans thanking them.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID – 

Tierney took to social media to thank Arsenal and the club’s fans. Writing on Twitter, he said: “Thank you to everyone for your support as always.

“Grateful (heart emoji)

He told the Sociedad website: ‘Coming to La Liga was a change for me, but i was looking forward to it. I’m passionate about challenges and i am thrilled to be here.’

Tierney could have stayed at ARSENAL this summer and really fought for his place in that Gunners side, but he wants to be playing every week.

It is such a shame that a hard-working defender like him has been plagued by injuries – he was the number one left-back at the club a few seasons ago, but this is a great move for the man to make.

Sociedad will be hoping that the Spanish weather and the less physical demands of La Liga can see the best out of Tierney – it is a great place to reignite a career.
