Seria A star ‘would be solid’ signing for Enzo Maresca after Chelsea given chance to get January deal done

Fikayo Tomori would be a very good defensive signing for Enzo Maresca at CHELSEA after reports emerged which suggested that the Blues have been offered the chance to sign the AC Milan star, according to reporter Iomie Stanley.

Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘While Chelsea might weigh their options, Tomori’s potential availability in January presents an excellent opportunity for Maresca to bolster Leicester’s promotion push or strengthen their prospects of staying competitive in the Premier League if they’ve earned a return.

‘Tomori’s previous tenure at Chelsea showcased his ability to thrive in English football. His combination of athleticism, positional awareness, and composure on the ball made him a reliable option in Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side before his move to AC Milan.

‘Having experienced the physicality and pace of the Premier League, Tomori’s transition to Leicester would likely be seamless. He understands the demands of English football, which is invaluable for a side like Leicester aiming to build a robust defensive line.

‘Maresca’s style emphasizes possession-based football, much influenced by his time under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Tomori is a modern defender who thrives in systems that prioritize ball retention and build-up play from the back.

At AC Milan, he has demonstrated his ability to distribute effectively under pressure and contribute to attacking transitions. His versatility to play in a back three or four provides Maresca with tactical flexibility, which is crucial in adapting to different opponents and game scenarios.’

CHELSEA needs to improve that back-line in order to keep up challenging for those Champions League places, and Tomori could be a very good option considering many fans were upset when he left the club back in 2021.

‘But he has been offered to quite a few clubs, so it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.’
