‘He’s a fighter’ Newcastle encouraged to leave Arsenal fuming and sign Ex-Blues star

Paul Robinson has urged Newcastle United to bring former Chelsea star Diego Costa back to the Premier League, despite the reports Arsenal are keen on deal

The former Chelsea striker is a free agent after leaving Atletico Mineiro and The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal has an interest in him, with Mikel Arteta looking to bolster his attacking options.

However, Robinson believes it is Newcastle who should push to sign the Spain striker because he can help them in their bid to avoid relegation, especially as they have been lacking goals this season

Former Spurs man, Robinson tells Football Insider: “If I was Newcastle I’d take him tomorrow.

“He is a proven goalscorer at the highest level. He has got an edge to him as well. He’s a fighter. That edge could get Newcastle out of trouble.”

Look, Costa was a wonderful player for Chelsea and a man that can score goals, but no longer at the top level. Yes he would be arriving on a free deal and yes he would add experience, but he would also bring drama.

If Newcastle want to make impact signings, they need to sign players that can score 20-30 goals a season, that can play at the top level and that would get the Premier League worried.

Costa is no longer the player that he was at the Blues, and the Toon, nor Arsenal, should be making a move for him this transfer window.

Magpies fans are expecting big things from the board and are hoping that alot more money will be spent, but as we said, Costa is a player that should not find his way back to the Premier League

And Newcastle should not give him a massive final wage to do that
