Official announcement made – £100m valued star delighted to sign up with Newcastle
Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon has signed a new long-term contract to end any uncertainty over a possible move away from St James’ Park.
Gordon has had a decent season with Newcastle this season and impressed for the Toon – but with all the speculation that Mohamed Salah could depart LIVERPOOL at some point in the near future – Gordon has been linked with a shock move to Merseyside.
Newcastle had no interest in selling one of their star players, but faced a fight to convince Gordon to stay at St. James’ Park with so many rumours in the media linking him with a big money love to Liverpool
Signed from Everton in January 2023, the 23-year-old – who was linked with Liverpool over the summer – has become a key part of Eddie Howe’s squad, scoring 15 goals and claiming 11 assists in 74 appearances.
However – it has now been revealed that he has agreed a new contract with the Toon that seemingly ends all the speculation about his future – Speaking about his renewed commitment, Gordon said: “I just think the club’s in a great place. Since the takeover it’s just been up and up. Me and the gaffer are a perfect match in terms of style of play. I love it here.
“I’m very happy here, I like living here, the team is very suited to me – and I’m here to win a trophy. The short story is we need to win a trophy.
“Winning a trophy here would be unbelievable because the fans have waited so long. To be part of that team who finally does it is a massive goal of mine.”

If Liverpool now want Gordon – they will have to pay some serious money after this latest development – it is massive that he is staying at the club.
It is the right decision too – he is playing the best football of his career and all Newcastle fans will surely be happy
