£50 Million Newcastle United target tipped to make January move!

Sheffield United legend Billy Sharp has claimed that Newcastle target Aaron Ramsdale is likely eyeing an exit from Arsenal after being dropped.

Mikel Arteta made the big decision over the summer transfer window to make a move and sign the impressive David Raya on loan until the end of the season, despite the fact that Aaron Ramsdale has been brilliant since his move to the Emirates.

Raya has been brilliant for Arsenal so far during his time at the club and is clearly the man that Mikel Arteta would like to take forward – which has led to alot of speculation surrounding Ramsdale, with Newcastle a club that have reportedly been interested in a deal

Now – amid all the speculation and rumours – Sharpe has opened up and claimed that he believes that Ramsdale will depart the Emirates at some point this January window.

He said: “He wants to play, I think he has already made that clear. I think he is disappointed.

“It is one of them. It is football, it’s cut-throat at times. I think they wanted to sign Raya before Ramsdale.

“They didn’t get him so they got Rammers. The goalkeeping coach was at Brentford before that so they got [Raya] in for whatever reason.

“Whether it’s because he is better with his feet… I am an old-fashioned traditionalist, make the save first.

“I think Rammers is pretty good with his feet. All goalkeepers make errors because it is a difficult part of the pitch because you’re under the microscope all of the time.”

Should Ramsdale leave Arsenal?

Ramsdale proved that he was one of the best shot stoppers in the Premier League last season, so sitting on the bench on a weekly basis is not doing anything for him and his career.

There are quite a few clubs linked with a move for the man – so if the right club comes in and the right offer arrives – it would be unfair for Arsenal to force Ramsdale to stay put for the remainder of the season.

He wants to play.
