Top Arsenal news of the week! Prem raid on after Arteta told £45 million midfield powerhouse Ndidi ‘wants to join Arsenal’
Former Premier League star Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Leicester ace Wilfred Ndidi would jump at the chance to move to Arsenal.
ARSENAL have once again been linked with every possible player over the last few weeks as Mikel Arteta sought to bring in the type of players he needs to get the club playing his brand of football.
He may have worked with Pep Guardiola and had the funds to sign any player the club desired, but he has taken over a Gunners side that is lacking in star quality, meaning that HE NEEDS to spend some serious money to get the club back inside the top six, or top four spots.
And that has led to speculation in the media that he is reportedly ready to splash the cash and try to acquire the services of Ndidi from Leicester, for a fee of around £45 million.
And now Agbonlahor has come out and claimed that Ndidi would jump at the opportunity to make the move and play for a massive club like Arsenal.
He told Stadium Astro: “Yeah [Ndidi would suit Arsenal], I think the way he’s been playing for Leicester, he’s got the legs in midfield, he can play the ball forward as well, he can win the ball back.
“But Leicester are doing better than Arsenal at the moment so they’re not going to sell their players.
“Definitely [Ndidi would want to join Arsenal]. I think with the history Arsenal have got, they’re still a massive club.”
Look, despite their troubles in the Premier League and this massive transitional phase that the club are going through, Arsenal are still one of the biggest clubs in the game and would be a step up from Leicester.
Leicester may be having a good season, but that will not be a regular thing every season, but if Arteta can get things right, and get the players he wants, then he could be challenging for titles with the Gunners on a regular basis.
But will ARSENAL want to pay the big asking price? That will be the stumbling block.
