Arsenal agree Torreira fee, Auba signs three-year Arsenal deal, Gunners to sign Runarsson, Oscar makes massive claim in Arsenal roundup…

Iceland international goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson is set to have a medical with Arsenal.

The Gunners are looking for a replacement for Aston Villa-bound Emiliano Martinez, with the Argentine moving to the Midlands in a £20million move as he seeks to get regular game time this coming season.

Martinez was brilliant towards the back-end of last season and helped Arsenal pick up that famous FA Cup victory, but with Bern Leno considered the number one at the club, Arsenal have decided to let him leave the club and join Villa.

And now Arsenal are said to be looking at signing Runarsson in the next couple of days, who plays for Dijon in France, with reports on the TalkSport website claiming that the stopper is on his way to the club for a medical.

The 25-year-old was an unused substitute in England’s 1-0 win over Iceland in the UEFA Nations League earlier this month,a and will cost the club around £10 million to acquire this summer.

Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar has opened the door to a return to Europe and claimed that he is a wanted man at Arsenal

The Brazilian is currently signed to Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG after deciding to make the lucrative move to the Chinese club just a few seasons ago, and has enjoyed his time there.

However, there has been some speculation in the media that he is seeking a move back to Europe in the coming transfer windows, and a whole host of clubs are reportedly interested in getting a bargain deal wrapped up.

But after admitting that he is open to the idea of a move back to Europe, Oscar has also claimed that David Luiz and Willian have tried to convince him to make the move to Arsenal.

‘They called me, they had to call me. Because we have good communication,’ Oscar told Fox Sports. ‘Sometimes I talk to them. They said, ‘come to Arsenal, come here’.

‘But for me it’s a little more difficult. ‘I have a contract with Shanghai, it’s a little more difficult to leave. Willian had finished the contract.

‘I was happy that they got together again. And happy that Willian is happy.

‘The most important thing is to be happy, regardless of the place. So I hope they are happy there.

‘I really want to go back to Europe. Not now. At the moment I’m well here in China, I still have my contract here, which I hope to fulfil.

‘And I’ve had approaches, I’ve had approaches from some clubs to go back. But the situation is difficult for me to return, it’s a little more complicated for me to get out of here.

‘So I hope to fulfil my contract here calmly and then yes I think about going back to Europe.”

Arsenal and Torino have reached a £22.1million agreement for the transfer of Lucas Torreira, according to reports in Italy.

Torreira completed a £26million move from Sampdoria to Arsenal last summer and the 23-year-old had a promising debut season in north London, making 50 appearances in all competitions.

But lasts season the 23-year old has struggled to kick on after his great first season and has only recently managed to force himself into the plans of Mikel Arteta.

Torreira has constantly showed his desire to leave the Arsenal, and that has started rumours once again that a number of clubs are interested in taking him away from the club this transfer window.

And with Arsenal seeking to raise funds in order to sign their top target Thomas Partey, Torreira is about to help Arsenal sign the Madrid midfielder after Calciomercato claimed that Torreira is heading back to Italy to sign with Torino in a deal that is worth £22.1 million.

The reports adds Torino have reportedly come up with £11m to loan Torreira this season with an obligation to buy for another £11m next summer, and that the Arsenal midfielder can thank defender Armando Izzo, who is set to leave Torino for Roma, paving the way for Torino to be able to afford the Uruguayan.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has agreed to stay at Arsenal for another three seasons.

Regarded as one of the finest strikers in the game right now, the future of Aubameyang has dominated the headlines for Arsenal all summer transfer window, as he still hadnt signed a new contract with the club

It is believed the likes of Barcelona and Juventus were ready to swoop in and try to get a deal done, but Mikel Arteta was confident that Aubameyang will sign a new contract and stay at the Arsenal.

And after months of speculation, the Gabon hitman has opened up and told Arsenal fans that signing for this special club was never really in any doubt: “Signing for this special club was never in doubt,” Auba said. “It’s thanks to our fans, my team-mates, my family and everybody at this club that I feel like I belong here. I believe in Arsenal. We can achieve big things together. We have something exciting here and I believe the best is to come for Arsenal.”

Mikel Arteta added: “It was important for Pierre-Emerick to stay with us. He’s a superb player with an incredible mentality. Being the player to have taken the least amount of time to reach 50 goals with this club tells you everything you need to know about him and his way of working.

“He’s an important leader for the team and a big part of what we’re building. He wants to be up there with the best players in the world and leave his mark. He can achieve that here.”

Technical director Edu said: “It’s clear Auba loves the club and everything we stand for on and off the pitch. He’s obviously a very important part of the team so we’re all delighted he has committed his future to us. It’s a big boost for everyone – fans, team-mates and staff.”
