Agent makes huge Torriera transfer claim, Arsenal close in on deal for Ceballos (Video), Liverpool star on way to Arsenal?
Here is a roundup of the latest Arsenal news from icfootballnews.com
The agent of Lucas Torreira has opened up about the possible Arsenal exit of the midfielder during the January transfer window.
Torreira completed a £26million move from Sampdoria to Arsenal last summer and the 23-year-old had a promising debut season in north London, making 50 appearances in all competitions.
But so far this season the 23-year olf has struggled to kick on after his great first season and has only managed to start three Premier League fixtures under the guidance of Unai Emery, with suggestion she is not happy with life in the English game.
According to Calciomercato, the current uncertainty over his place in the team, coupled with Arsenal’s poor form, could see Torreira leave the club, and the 23-year-old is aware of interest from AC Milan and has already made it clear to Arsenal that he wants them to consider any offers
But Torreira’s representative insists he has never contacted Arsenal to discuss a transfer move, amid reports the midfielder is keen to leave north London: ‘I must say that the change of role has hurt him,’ agent Pablo Bentancur told Calciomercato.
‘He’s no longer at ease and we hope that things can change.’
Asked whether Torreira could leave Arsenal next summer if things do not improve, Bentancur responded: ‘We have no problem with Arsenal, only words of thanks.
‘They allowed Lucas to compete in the Premier League, he has always shown great confidence. Clearly, there is interest for Torreira, especially from Spanish clubs.
‘However, I have never sat down with any club to talk about a transfer. This is because of the great respect we have for the Gunners and their general manager Raul Sanllhei.’
Reports have claimed Arsenal have been given a boost in their chase to sign Dani Ceballos on a permanent basis.
After months and month and months of transfer speculation during the summer transfer window, the Gunners finally managed to finalise a try-before-they officially buy deal for the Spaniard, as Emery was desperate to add another midfielder to the side after Aaron Ramsey departed the club.
Many Gunners fans did not know what to expect upon the arrival of the little midfielder after he failed to break into the Real Madrid midfield, but in the early stages of the season he has already shown the class and quality that this current Arsenal midfield needs.

Darren Bent believes Arsenal may be interested in trying to sign unhappy Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri.
Arsenal have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few months as much speculation in the media have suggested a number of top players have become unhappy, and that Unai Emery could be on the way out if results do not improve over the next few weeks.
But there has also bee some speculation in the media which has suggested that Emery may be able to get some funds in the January window and add to his squad, especially if he wants to save his job and get the Gunners back inside the top four spots.
And there has been some shock news in the media suggesting that Shaqiri has become very unhappy with his lack of game time at Anfield, and is reportedly ready to seek a possible move away from the Reds during the Winter window.
And former Premier League striker Bent believes the midfielder will not be short of options, believing Arsenal may be interested in a deal.
“I think Arsenal would probably take him, Manchester City nope, Chelsea nope, Spurs may potentially take him as well,” Bent told Football Insider.
“I think there will be no shortage of takers so he has nothing to fear about that.”
Look, we have said it before and we will say it again, Arsenal do not need to improve their attacking side of the game and need to splash their cash on improving the back-line with a top-class defender or two.
If Shaqiri wants to leave Liverpool, that is upto him. But he would not be a good move for Arsenal to make as he is not the type of player that Emery likes to have in the side
