Spanish star ‘to be brilliant signing’ for Chelsea ahead of possible £44 million move

Pau Torres would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea – according to reporter Iomie Stanley.

Chelsea spent some serious money in the summer transfer window and added some classy players to that back-line – But Graham Potter is still having issues in defense.

The January window will allow Chelsea to make some fresh moves and try to improve that back-line and it has been claimed that a move for Pau Torres is on the agenda for the Blues

The Spanish defender has been exceptional in defense for the Yellow Submarine and could be an ideal player for Graham Potter – and although Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs are also chasing Torres, Chelsea is in a pole position to sign the young defender.

He has recently been hailed as a ‘fantastic’ player with a ‘fabulous’ left foot, and has emerged as one of the best ball-playing centre-backs in Europe – according to Owen Hargreaves.

Now – amid all the speculation – Stanley has come out and told IcFootballnews that Torres would be a brilliant addition to that Chelsea squad in the winter window

He said: ‘Torres is one of the best young defenders in the game.

‘He has already proven himself in the Champions League – is a full international and is a player that has plenty of years to develop into a real superstar.

‘Thiago Silva is right at the back-end of his top-level playing career and will need to be replaced – Torres could be that replacement.

‘His contract is running down – so there is a chance for Chelsea to get him for just £44 million – and that would be an absolute bargain.

‘From what we have seen from Torres over the past few seasons – he has all the ability – all the quality and all the talent to be a massive signing for a Chelsea  -a brilliant signing for the club.’
