New £28 million signing opens up and reveals why he decided to sign with Tottenham
Sergio Reguilon has opened up on why he decided to join Tottenham for £28 million this summer window.
After an impressive season with Sevilla last year, Reguilon was heavily linked with summer transfer move to both Chelsea and Manchester United, but the Blues opted to sign Ben Chilwell and United havent got the money to complete many more deals.
That meant Spurs had a clear run at trying to get a transfer deal done, and after a few weeks of talks, managed to convince Madrid into selling Reguilon for a fee of £28 million rising to £32 million with add-ons.
And upon his arrival at the club, he has revealed why he decided that Tottenham would be the next move in his career, Speaking to Spurs’ official club website Reguilon said: “I really like the philosophy of the club and the coach, those were things that made me want to come here.
“The desire to grow, the vision of the club, and I’m eager to grow as a player. Tottenham has world-class players and a world-class manager. I can’t wait to start working with him on my first day.
“I saw the training facilities, they are incredible. I think I am now in the hardest league in the world, the most difficult one. I talked a lot with [Gareth] Bale, regarding everything; the club, the city, the new stadium and I just can’t wait to start with my team-mates.”
This is a player with great potential and is now a full Spanish international, so Spurs have pulled off a great bit of business here.
Spurs fans are surely happy with this deal?
