£40m star ‘more likely’ to complete move to Chelsea after arrival of Potter – fans told
It has been claimed that Graham Potter will not look to bring Brighton star Leandro Trossard to Chelsea
After an indifferent start to the new season – some unhappy moments off the pitch and a falling out with Ted Boehly – the decision was made by Chelsea to get rid of Thomas Tuchel and replace him with Graham Potter
Potter is easily regarded as one of the finest young managers in the Premier League and has been tipped to manage one of the big clubs – but no-one could have imagined that he would be taking over Chelsea so soon into the season.
But with a new manager comes some new players – and it is believed that Potter will now look to add some players to the squad that he believes can help take Chelsea back to the top – and players to the side that will help play the kind of football that he wants
And that has led to some shock reports in the media which has suggested that Potter would like to add Trossard to the side during the January window
Trossard was one of Brighton’s star performers under Potter and has started the new season in fine fashion with 2 goals and 2 assists in just six Premier League game
But now, if you believe the words of Journalist Simon Phillips – Potter will bolster the chances of the Belgian heading to west London when the transfer window reopens.
Simon Phillips Phillips told GIVEMESPORT: “The fact that the Chelsea board have already scouted him, looked at him this summer and did consider making a move for him is only going to increase the chances of Chelsea trying to sign him in January.
“You see it a lot when managers get appointed where they bring their target names with them. They say ‘this is a player I want in January’ and all those talks have happened already.
“I’m sure Trossard is a name that’s been mentioned to the Chelsea owners.”
The January window is a few months away so Potter will see just what players that he will need
But considering he already has alot of players that are more productive than Trossard – the Brighton star would just be a bench-warmer at the Bridge
