OFFICIAL Edu Arsenal announcement made – star is delighted with confirmed summer move!

Arsenal have confirmed that Matt Turner has joined Nottingham Forest, and Edu has wished the player all the best.

The shot-stopper moved to North London last June, keeping three clean sheets in five UEFA Europa League outings for the Gunners as well as starting four times for the USA during their FIFA World Cup campaign in Qatar.

However – he was told that he would not be part of the long-term plans at ARSENAL and the decision was made for him to make a move – and Nottingham Forest quickly showed an interest in getting a deal done.

Forest have announced the signing of Arsenal goalkeeper Turner on a four-year contract in a deal worth £10m. Forest will play £7m up front plus £3m in performance-related add-ons.

The USA international becomes Forest’s third signing of the transfer window following the arrivals of Ola Aina and Anthony Elanga.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID

Sporting Director Edu said: “On behalf of everyone at the club, we would like to thank Matt for his contribution to ARSENAL and wish him and his family all the best in their new chapter.

“Matt is an international goalkeeper with the United States and is at a stage of his career when he needs to be playing regularly. He is leaving with our best wishes to join Nottingham Forest.”

GOOD MOVE FOR TURNER TO MAKE?

Matt Turner had big hopes of becoming a regular starter at the Emirates, and many believed that he had the potential to do that – but it simply was not meant to be.

It is a very good decision to make for the man as he will no longer be sitting on the bench – and should get a real shot at becoming the number one at Forest – and for the money, he is a bargain.

ARSENAL are happy with the deal; Turner is happy, and Forest are happy – Gunners fans will wish him the best too.
