Spend your money Arsenal and solve issues with double £110 million January deals
Arsenal should try and sign both Samule Umtiti and Marquinhos?
If Arsenal are in need of improving their defence in January, then they should go big and try to acquire the services of both Samuel Umtiti and Marquinhos.
Arsenal once again need to delve into their transfer kitty in January to sign a new defender and THEY SHOULD make a move for PSG star Marquinhos as a replacement for David Luiz.
Emery was linked with some of the games biggest players over the summer and it looked like Gunners fans were all set to see a world class defender come in and help shore up that dodgy back line that the club currently has.
But despite all the rumours, despite all the speculation and despite all the money that the club has, Emery shock many in the media by landing David Luiz from Chelsea in a deal that would only cost the club £8 million.
However, the Brazilians arrival has only made the Gunners back-line worse and he has already cost the Gunners points against Liverpool and Watford, with his other performances looking nothing more than a player that is not capable of playing at the top level any longer.
And if the Gunners are lining up a few January signings, they should try and make a move for Marquinhos AND Umtiti.
Marquinhos was tipped to become one of the best centre-backs in the world from a very young age and Paris Saint-Germain didn’t hesitate to splash €31 million on a teenager back in 2013.
Since then he has managed to win 18 trophies with PSG and has become one of the most prominent figures at the club, despite his young years.
The Brazilian centre-back has got immense quality on the ball and although The Brazilian is not as tall as some of the other centre-backs in the world, he still manages to win 2 aerial duels per game across all competitions for PSG.
A knee injury, which required surgery, has seen the Frenchman Umtiti lose his starting place to countryman Clement Lenglet, and reports have suggested Barcelona are willing to allow him to depart the club.
And reports have suggested that Emery is willing to spend around £50 million to try and secure a deal for the Barcelona defender, after the Spaniard admitted that he is interested in potentially signing the defender during the summer window.
It is believed that Barcelona are open to the idea of selling the powerhouse, and although Arsenal did improve the back-line over the summer, the signing of Umtiti would be a whole different level of quality.
He should be high up on the shopping list of Emery, especially as Luiz is coming towards the back end of his career.
