Sorry Spurs as Manchester United to solve issues with perfect January signing!
Fresh reports have again claimed that Manchester United are planning a January raid on Premier League rivals Tottenham for Toby Alderweireld.
Now that Solskjaer is permanent boss of the Red Devils, he will be able to delve into his transfer kitty over the next few windows in order to try and acquire the type of players that would come in and improve the squad, with Alderweireld linked with a move.
It is no secret that Alderweireld has failed to agree a new contract with Tottenham with reports suggesting Spurs are not willing to meet his wage demands, with many media outlets reporting he could leave the club for at the end of the season for absolutely nothing.
And with United having some serious issues at the back once again this season, Italian Publication Tuttosport have claimed that they make an offer to Tottenham to try and sign Alderweireld during the January window knowing that Spurs would be willing to accept a small fee rather then let the Belgian leave for noting.
He would be a bargain for the fee that he is going for and considering he has already proven himself at the top level, it is a shock to see that United have not made a firm offer considering just how interested they have been in securing a transfer deal for Alderweireld.
Next to Harry Maguire he could help United become more solid at the back than they have been for a few seasons, and considering they could offer him a nice big wage to make the move to Old Trafford, he would be tempted in a move to Manchester.
So if United are serious about getting back inside the top four spots and challenging for that Premier League title once again. then they need to go out and try to sign players of the calibre of Alderweireld, especially for bargain prices.
So it will be interesting to see just if United do make a move for the Belgian in the coming windows.
