United close in on £51M signing – Man United in talks for Bundesliga star – Red Devils talks for Prem star
Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –
Manchester United’s bid for Noussair Mazraoui is back on after his transfer to West Ham allegedly collapsed.
Mazraoui looked set to join the Hammers from Bayern Munich after a £16.4million deal was reached, but personal terms were reportedly unable to be thrashed out between the East Londoners and the full-back’s camp.
That has led to West Ham walking away from negotiations and opened the door for United, with reports suggesting that the Red Devils are believed to be in “advanced talks” over a move for the Morocco international.
Transfer insider Florian Plettenberg tweeted: “Noussair #Mazraoui deal with West Ham is OFF!
“No agreement on agent‘s side has been reached. Despite the agreement between the clubs (15,5 + 4) and on player‘s side West Ham now have left the negotiations.
“Manchester United now pushing to sign Mazraoui. Advanced talks.”
Mazraoui and Antony forged an understanding operating down the right during their days together at Ajax with ten Hag believing the full-back’s presence can improve Antony’s performances, The Times report.

Antony has been awful since his move to Old Trafford and has not looked good enough to play in that Manchester United side – so letting him depart the club in the coming weeks will be a good decision to make.
United do need to sign another right-back – but even the quality of Mazraoui may not be able to get Antony playing at his best again.
However – that right-back is an issue for Man United and adding Mazraoui to the side for just £16 million may be a brilliant bit of business by the club i f they are able to pull off a deal.
UGARTE BOOST –
Manchester United have been boosted by the news that PSG have found a replacement for Manuel Ugarte.
Ugarte, 23, joined the French club from Sporting last summer after spending the previous two-and-a-half seasons in Portugal. He moved to Europe from South America as a teenager, months after debuting for the senior Uruguay side
While he was a first-team regular during the first-half of the season under Luis Enrique, he lost his place in the side in the second-half of the season.
talkSPORT understands MAN UNITED have made landing the Uruguay international their top priority after sealing the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, and now the French giants have signed Ugarte’s potential replacement.
Joao Neves is joining the French giants from Benfica – opening the door for Man United to finally complete the signing of Ugarte for £51 million.
South American football expert Tim Vickery recently told Hawksbee and Jacobs he’s the exact type of player Erik ten Hag is missing.
“I can really understand this one,” he said. “You looked at United last season and they were so easy to play through weren’t they? Opponents were just walking through them – Ugarte would be a man to help fix that.
“He reminds me of a young Javier Mascherano in that he’s a tigerish holding midfielder who can play, who can pass crisply and swiftly out of defence. I don’t think he’s quite as good as Mascherano was at that age, but he’s that type of player.
“Marcelo Bielsa [Uruguay manager] thinks the world of him. He even played Ugarte in the last game in the Copa America, started off with him in the back-three – which Guardiola did with Mascherano at Barcelona.
“He’s got that that extra little bit of versatility, which I think is very interesting indeed. I like him a lot. I think it’d be a good buy for United.”
UNITED IN BASSIKA TALKS –
It has now been claimed that West Ham United are in talks with Manchester United over a deal for defender Aaron Wan-Bassika.
Wan-Bassika joined Man United for a fee of £50 million three years ago after making a real name for himself in the Premier League – but he has not yet been able to become the signing that the club had hoped for
It was suggested in the summer that West Ham were keen to take him to London Stadium on loan or on a more permanent basis – as ex-boss David Moyes wanted a bit more cover for that area of the pitch
Wan-Bissaka remained with Manchester United in the end though, after new boss Erik Ten Hag failed to sign a replacement – it seems that now he is all set to depart Old Trafford and make the move to the Hammers.
According to the SUN . Wan-Bissaka could move to West Ham for as little as £15 million (€17.8m/ $19.5m) after talks were opened, meaning the Red Devils would take a massive loss on the original £50m (€59.5m/$65.1m) they paid for the former Crystal Palace man in 2019

There have been far too many Manchester United players that have simply not been good enough for the Red Devils last season and Wan-Bissaka is one of them, he has not developed like many had hoped.
He is not good enough for a massive club like Man United – so it is probably a good thing that he will join a club that is more suited to the way he likes to play the game – the Hammers could be a great move for the man.
And it could be a good buy for West Ham too.
