Manchester United have opened talks to land star Ruben Amorim has asked to be signed!
Manchester United have opened talks with Sporting CP over a deal to sign Viktor Gyokeres, although the striker will not make the move to the Premier League until the end of the season, reports in the media have claimed.
Over the past few transfer windows, the Manchester United board have backed the manager and spent some insane money, but the players that have been brought to the club have not improved the side enough to close the gap on the top three or four teams.
Ruben Amorim is now in charge of the club after the sacking of Erik Ten Hag and there has been alot of speculation in the media that the club will look to raid his former club and bring striker Gyokeres to the Premier League.
Last season Gyokeres was in sensational form for Sporting Lisbon and broke the 40 goal barrier for the Portuguese giants, he already has more than 20 goals and is fully established as one of the most dangerous strikers in the game, and a player that Amorim would like at United.
Per Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United have initiated talks with Sporting over a deal to sign Gyokeres at the end of the season, as they know the striker does not have the desire to leave his current club midway through the season.
It comes after former Arsenal and Sweden midfielder Anders Limpar claimed that he hopes to see his fellow countryman playing in the Premier League and is confident Gyokeres could make the transition into English football based on his recent heroics against Manchester City and his previous spell with Coventry City.
He added: ‘We have to remember that the Portuguese league is inferior to the Premier League, but when Manchester City came to visit Lisbon, he scored a hat-trick, so he’s fully capable of scoring in England.
‘He has played for Coventry and scored goals, he knows the English mentality.
‘I think his next step is to play in the Premier League and he can really choose which team he wants to play in.’
