United make £50M transfer decision – Agent green light United sign Frenchman – Attacker ‘would be best’ at Man United

Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today featuring Kingsley Coman, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell…

Danny Murphy has claimed Raheem Sterling would be Manchester United’s best winger if he completes a shock move to Old Trafford before the close of the transfer window on Friday the 30th August.

The 29-year-old has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge and is set to hold talks with the Chelsea hierarchy over his contractual situation before pressing ahead with a move away.

Manchester United are among the teams interested in signing the England international, with a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho mooted, and he is now reportedly open to the idea of a move to the Manchester giants.

Italy’s Juventus and Turkey’s Fenerbahce have also been linked with Sterling though it seems unlikely either would be able to pay his £300,000-a-week salary which currently makes him Chelsea’s highest earner.

And amid all the speculation that he could move to Man United  – the Red Devils have been told that Sterling could be the best winger at Old Trafford – During an appearance on talkSPORT, he said: “I think if you look at it from a percentage point of view, Sterling going to Manchester United is much more likely to get game time than Sancho at Chelsea.

“At Chelsea, they’ve already got [Pedro] Neto, [Noni] Madueke, [Cole] Palmer, [Christopher] Nkunku, [Mykhailo] Mudryk, all playing in wide positions.

“Now Palmer is always going to play, Madueke’s on fire, Neto has been bought for God knows what, it’s going to be hard for him.

“Sterling you could argue would get in the Manchester United team ahead of all their wingers.

“There’s a football argument to say, if Sterling goes to United, he’s the best winger.”

CHILWELL DECISION MADE –

Manchester United have reportedly made a decision on potentially signing Chelsea outcast Ben Chilwell, as the defender looks set to leave the Blues this summer as he is not wanted at the club.

Over the past few weeks there has been some speculation that Chelsea are very much open to the idea of letting Chilwell depart the club, with a move to Manchester United interested in a potential deal for the star.

He has been plagued by injuries over the past few seasons and after impressing at the Euros – it is widely believed that marc Cucurella will be the number one left-back for Enzo Maresca next season.

The Talksport website recently claimed that Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Chilwell this transfer window, But according to The Telegraph, the Old Trafford club have opted “not” to act on the former Leicester City man’s availability.

Enzo Maresca recently opened up and revealed that Chilwell is free to leave Chelsea this summer – Commenting on the left-back, Maresca said: ““Chilly [Chilwell] is with us but he has not been training for the last few days because he has been ill.

“The reason he did not play versus Inter [Milan] was because, with Chilly it is quite clear, even though I love the way he is, the problem is, he is struggling a bit to find the right position.

“This morning we had 22 players training and if you ask all of them they will say they want to play against City on Sunday.

“But that is impossible. When you train every day and do not get any minutes it is not good for them or for me.

“I need to make a decision and probably it is better to leave and go and get minutes. The transfer window is open so we’ll see what happens.”

BIG COMAN BOOST –

The agent of Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman has offered the likes of Manchester United a massive transfer boost, amid all the speculation that he could be making a move to Saudi Arabia.

There has been alot of players linked with a move to the club – but now it seems that they may be able to sign one of their long-term targets, Coman – ad he is seemingly a player that Bayern are open to selling in last few days of the window.

L‘Equipe recently reported that after Coman and many of the club’s big earners were invited to leave Bayern, the France international has decided not to stay at the club. He is expected to leave the Bundesliga outfit before the transfer window shuts on August 30.

The 28-year-old has also had long-standing interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, while clubs in Saudi Arabia would reportedly be willing to meet his £50m asking price.

A fresh report from L’Equipe claims that reigning Saudi Arabian champions Al-Hilal have placed a concrete offer with the Bavarian club which they have accepted. The report also states that the France international has given the green light to the move, but Coman’s agent Christian Emile has rubbished claims that the Bayern star is on his way to Saudi Arabia in an exclusive statement to Fabrizio Romano. “It’s NOT true. Kingsley has not accepted any bid at this stage,” he said

A few seasons ago Coman would have been a wonderful signing for Manchester United – but now – he would not be.

It looks like he has lost that hunger and desire that made him one of the best n the world and we would not be surprised to see him leave Bayern – but not for the Red Devils.

The Premier League is a place that he would probably struggle to play his best football – he is a brilliant player – but needs space to work his magic.
