Superstar to sign up with Man United, Ramos sends Pogba message, £200m Man United swap deal the answer

Here is a roundup of the latest Manchester United news from icfootballnews.

Fresh reports have claimed David De Gea is close to agreeing a new contract to stay at Manchester United.

United were on a mission this summer to acquire some world class players and get the club challenging for more than a top four spot this season.

But there has been a lot of speculation in the media over the past few months which have suggested that the Red Devils could lose one of their biggest players, as De Gea could not agree a new contract at the club.

It is believed that United did not offer the Spanish stopper the kind of deal that he would have liked, and that led to speculation that the likes of PSG, Juventus and Barcelona could all come calling to try and nail down his services.

However, the Old Trafford giants have offered the 28-year-old a new and improved deal in an attempt to finally agree upon a contract extension, and Solskjaer had earlier suggested that a deal is close to being signed.

Asked about De Gea’s situation, United boss Solskjaer said on the Daily Express website: “David has had a summer now where he’s been negotiating and thinking about his contract, so we hope that we’re going to get it sorted soon.

“I’m positive. Of course, with David, I’ve said many times how lucky I am and how happy we are to have him in the goal, so we hope he stays here for many years.”

Now According to the Guardian, De Gea is now close to signing his new deal and an announcement is expected shortly.

The deal will put him on similar terms to Paul Pogba, who earns around £290,000-a-week at the Theatre of Dreams.

Manchester United should definitely swap Paul Pogba for Gareth Bale.

But the English transfer deadline passed and it seemed that United fans would be seeing Pogba stay put for at least one more season, as a combination of Solskjaer wanting to keep hold of the midfielder and the right offer not arriving meaning that interest in the Frenchman was never firm.

And there has even been speculation in the media suggesting that Solskjaer is keen to open talks and get Pogba signed up to a new deal, despite the fact that he has admitted that he is ready to leave the club.

Real Madrid are expected to test United’s resolve again next summer, though, and their club captain Ramos seemingly would welcome Pogba with open arms.

‘I think Real Madrid always has the door open for good players such as him,’ he told the Daily Express.

‘For me, Pogba is one of the great players. He is different and he has shown his value at Juventus and now Manchester United.

‘I think he brings balance to a team. He has a great offensive influence and he has this amazing physique.’
