Solskjaer urged to make Manchester United move and sign Lewandowski-type striker
Rene Muelensteen has called for Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign a striker like Robert Lewandowski in the transfer windows.
Manchester United have been putting in some very impressive results and performances over the past few months, ever since Bruno Fernandes arrived at the club and that 3-0 victory over Brighton now means that they are unbeaten in 15 matches.
However, there are still many out there that firmly believe that United need to delve into that transfer kitty and bring in a world class striker that will lead the attack, as Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood are not number nines.
And ahead of the summer window, Muelensteen has called for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign a striker like Robert Lewandowski, United’s former first-team coach told talkSPORT: “They brought Ighalo in as a player that could help United in certain and he’s done actually very, very well.
“But, if you look at the other players that have been there, Rashford, Martial, they’re not really out-and-out strikers.
“Greenwood is a young player coming up, same thing there.”
He added: “What I think Manchester United is missing is a striker the calibre of Robert Lewadowski, somebody that is up there, can hold the line, can link play.”
Look, United do have an exciting side, but a world class striker would be the icing on the cake, especially as he would add to the 50-plus goals that the young trio have scored this season for United.
However, with the performances of the trio, there is a case for the club to not sign a striker as these three are scoring goals for fun and on a weekly basis, so adding a new forward into that mix may actually upset the flow of the side right now.
It should be an interesting summer for many United fans.
