Dutchman makes statement after OFFICIAL Manchester United deal announced!
Erik ten Hag has extended his contract at Manchester United, and he is delighted with the new deal
Ten Hag led United to a third place finish in his first season in charge in the 2022-23 season, also securing the Carabao Cup. The 2023-24 campaign however saw the club drop to eighth, eliminated from the Champions League by Christmas and lose 13 league games – their worst record of the Premier League era.
New Manchester United minority owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INOES conducted an end-of-season review and even held talks with former Bayern Munich Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino.
But despite finishing eighth in the Premier League last season, the United hierarchy determined ten Hag was the right man to take the club forward next season, and they have now agreed to extend his contract at the club.
And after the deal was announced – Ten Hag opened up and said: ‘I am very pleased to have reached agreement with the club to continue working together,’ ten Hag said.
‘Looking back at the past two years, we can reflect with pride on two trophies and many examples of progression from where we were when I joined.
‘However, we must also be clear that there is still lots of hard work ahead to reach the levels expected of Manchester United, which means challenging for English and European titles.’

Look, Manchester United had a poor season last year but still finished up with a trophy and European football – that is what football is all about right? Trophies?
In two years he has won two cups – there isnt a manager out there that would be unhappy with that record and it was the right decision to keep him at the club – despite all the negativity around the club.
