United told get deal done for Brazilian, United closing in on first Amorim signing, Man United get Worldie transfer message
Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…
Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen has encouraged the club to cash in on winger Antony because he doesn’t believe he has what it takes to fit into Ruben Amorim’s system.
The Brazilian joined from Ajax for around £85m in 2022 but has failed to hit the heights expected of him and looks like a player that is not good enough to be in the Premier League on a weekly basis.
Ruben Amorim seems to not want him at the club either and there has been alot of speculation about where he could go when the January window opens up, especially as United need money before they can start adding players to the side.
Now – Meulensteen has encouraged the club to cash in on winger Antony because he doesn’t believe he has what it takes to fit into Ruben Amorim’s system – he told BetIdeas: “Manchester United might have to bite the bullet and cut their losses with Antony in January, because I don’t think he has the attributes to contribute to what Ruben Amorim wants.
“I find it difficult to see where he fits into this team. I think he’s been one of the biggest misfiring transfers in the Premier League in recent years.
“He’s another example of a player who comes from the Dutch league – which I know really well – where you can win seven out of ten games with two fingers up your nose and you don’t have to break a sweat. In the Premier League, you have to be absolutely top class in every game you play.
“I think the biggest thing that has held Antony back is his own personality – he’s got certain characteristics that don’t sit very well with some of the other players.
‘Away from that though, there’s a lack of effectiveness as a player – he’s very predictable in the way he wants to cut in on his left foot. We hardly see any quality assists or chance creation from him and I think we could see him elsewhere by the end of January.”
DAVIES TRANSFER MESSAGE SENT
Former Manchester United defender Gary Pallister has urged the Red Devils not to sign Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich, claiming younger wing-backs like Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Wolves star Rayan Ait-Nouri should be prioritised instead.

Alphonso Davies is a player that has the ability to play in a number of positions, and has been on the radar of the Premier League for quite a few seasons, but clubs have never been able to get a transfer deal done.
However Davies is open to leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season as his current deal with the Bundesliga giants is running out, and Bayern are open to letting him leave the club as they dont want to pay his massive wage demands.
But despite the many reports which have claimed that Manchester United are interested – Pallister has urged the Red Devils not to sign Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich, claiming younger wing-backs like Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Wolves star Rayan Ait-Nouri should be prioritised instead.
“Wing backs are so important in that system,” Pallister told MyBettingSites.co.uk. “They’ve got to have the energy to get up and down the pitch, to help the back, to get forward and help the attackers.
“They (Kerkez and Ait-Nouri) are both young lads and it doesn’t always have to be some big name from Bayern, Madrid or Barcelona.
‘They need players that can fit into the style of play and I’m sure Amorim and the recruitment guys are looking at it because it’s been so wrong for so many years that it’s become laughable in terms of some of the mistakes made in the transfer market and the money that’s been spent.
“United are looking to get value for players but good players. It’s got to improve because it has been laughable.”
MAN UNITED TO SOGN GUTIERREZ
There has been some reports emerge which have claimed that Manchester United are very close to finalising the first signing of the Ruben Amorim era as they are in advanced talks to rope in Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez

The 22-year-old left Real Madrid for Girona in 2022 and has been extremely impressive since then, making over 70 appearances in all competitions, helping the Catalan club make a shock challenge for that La Liga title.
A return to the Santiago Bernabeu remained most likely for Gutierrez as Real Madrid retained 50 per cent of his rights and recent reports have claimed that they can buy him back from Girona in the summer for as little as €8m (£6.8m).
However – Per TEAMtalk, United are very close to finalising the first signing of the Ruben Amorim era as they are in advanced talks to rope in Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez.
The English giants are currently negotiating with the Spanish club who are reportedly ready to sell the player lower than his €35million (£28.8m/$36.7m) release clause.

Gutierrez had a brilliant season for Girona last season and it is easy to see why all the big clubs are interested in a potential deal for the left-back – but we are sure that a move back to Madrid is wanted.
The player is reportedly keen to show the Madrid giants that he is good enough for the club – so many believed that if he was leaving Girona, it would be for Madrid- so many will be shocked by this Manchester United News.
But if the reports are true and United are closing in on a possible deal for the left-back – he will be a very good signing for the Red Devils when he settles into life in England.
