Manchester United have been told to bite the bullet and bring Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres to Old Trafford, as he would be an amazing signing for the club.

Over the past few transfer windows, the Manchester United board have backed the manager and spent some insane money, but the players that have been brought to the club have not improved the side enough to close the gap on the top three or four teams.

Ruben Amorim is now in charge of the club after the sacking of Erik Ten Hag and there has been alot of speculation in the media that the club will look to raid his former club and bring striker Gyokeres to the Premier League.

Now, Speaking to BonusCodeBets.co.uk, Paul Parker urged United to bite the bullet and sign Viktor Gyokeres. The former Red Devil said: “I think it would be amazing if Man United can sign Gyokeres.

“In my opinion, it would be one of the best possible signings and maybe one of the best signings in recent times in the Premier League. He knows how Amorim wants to play and vice versa.

“He would be the perfect addition, and also add some competition to Højlund who really needs it, because he hasn’t shown enough yet. Gyokeres would be a top striker in the Premier League.”

However, Viktor Gyokeres has played down speculation that he will leave Sporting to join United in the January transfer window. Speaking to Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen, as quoted by ESPN, the striker said: “It’s not something I think about, nor something I care about.

“These are rumours, nothing concrete. Of course I want to finish the season at Sporting, I enjoy my time there. I don’t feel stressed about making a change in the future. We’ll see when the time comes.”

Gyokeres added: “He [Amorim] probably already has strikers there. It’s very sad that he left [Sporting], but of course we understand the decision. He meant a lot to me, as he gave me an opportunity and helped me evolve a lot. Now we are looking forward to working with the new coach [João Pereira].”

Erik Ten Hag was heavily backed in the summer and signed alot of players, but the start to the new season meant that he was given the boot and the Red Devils quickly decided to bring Amorim to Old Trafford.

Amorim has made a real name for hmself at Sporting Lisbon and many believed that he was the man that would replace Pep Guardiola at Man City, but he is obviously at the Red Devils and Fonte backed Ruben Amorim to repeat his success at Sporting with United

Speaking to JeffBet, The former Southampton defender said: “Ruben Amorim’s move to Manchester United is great for Portuguese football

“He’s joined a huge club in Manchester United and I believe that he has all the attributes to succeed in the job. He’s very thorough. He’s very focused on attention to detail but he’s also an honest guy and he’s direct.

“He has played at a very, very good level. He knows what he’s doing. Now I’m just looking forward to seeing how he develops as a coach. He’s got a big task at hand, obviously with a lot of pressure, but the job that he did in Sporting was just incredible.

“He turned that club around and he brought success and titles – he can do the same at Manchester United…”

Amorim is a very gifted Manager and many are excited to see how he is able to cope in the Premier League, he is at one of the biggest clubs in the world that has a squad that is unable to compete for a top four spot.

Many are excited to see what he is able to do at Manchester United, many wants to see the club competing for that title once again

FERNANDEZ SPEAKS ON FUTURE

Alvaro Fernandez has insisted he’s ‘very happy’ at Benfica amid the transfer reports which have claimed that Ruben Amorim has asked the Manchester United board to bring back their former player.

The left-back joined Benfica on loan from the Red Devils last winter and he went on to sign on a permanent basis for £5 million at the end of the campaign, and Fernandez has since established himself as a key player for the Portuguese giants. Amorim appears keen on re-signing him with the buy-back clause in his deal.

The Spanish ace can be signed by interested clubs for a release clause worth £42m, but United have the option to bring him back for £17m at the start of next year, but it seems that the defender is happy where he is.

“I have people close to me and they are the ones who look at it more,” Fernandez told Spanish publication Marca. “To be honest, I don’t pay much attention to it.

“I’m focused on what I have to do because I have a game every three days. It’s always nice to have teams call you and everyone wants to grow, but I’m doing very well here. United have a signed purchase option, but I’m very happy here

“I have a five-year contract with Benfica. I want to win titles and continue to grow personally, as I am still only 21 years old. I want to win, whether it is with Spain or with Benfica, to continue to grow.”

The man left Manchester United and has started to make a name for himself, Amorim knows the Portuguese League and knows what players could improve his Man United side over the next few windows.

That left-back area is a problem and maybe Fernandez could be the answer, but it seems that he would nee some persuading to make the move back to the club
