Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is concerned about his club’s bid to sign Bayern Munich ace Matthijs de Ligt as he hasn’t delivered at the Allianz Arena since his mega money move to the German side.
Over the past few weeks there has been alot of transfer speculation in the media that Manchester United are closing in on a deal for De Ligt after the decision was made by Bayern Munich to allow him to leave the club this summer.
It has also been claimed that the Dutchman is keen on a move to Old Trafford – to work with Erik Ten Hag – and it has also been claimed that Man United are prepared to pay £43 million in order to get a transfer deal done.
Now According to the many reports in the media, Ten Hag has already spoken to De Ligt about a potential move to United and has outlined his plans for the upcoming Premier League campaign.
The Red Devils need another centre-back after losing summer signing Leny Yoro to injury, and De Ligt is the man that is wanted – but Scholes as issued a shock warning to the club about bringing the Dutchman to the club this transfer window,
He was quoted on the Sun: ‘He [De Ligt] has not played for them. That has to be a big concern for me, especially when Eric Dier is playing in front of him.
‘I’m not joking, though, that is a massive concern for me. When you’re bringing players in for £40-£50million just because he played for him three or four years ago.
‘Juventus got rid of him, he wasn’t good enough for Juventus.
‘He’s obviously not been good enough at Bayern Munich, so he’s coming to us as like a second-rate defender now.’
UNITED TOLD TO SIGN CHIESA –
Manchester United should sign Juventus star Federico Chiesa, according to Louis Saha with reports that have revealed the winger is not longer wanted at Juventus and is free to leave before the close of the transfer window.
Chiesa is a transfer target for Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United – As the winger is “very ambitious” about a move to the Prem and believes top-flight English football will enrich his career.
The Euro 2020 winner is now seemingly on the market after Thiago Motta took over as Juventus boss, as GiveMeSport state he is a player that the Italians are ready to cash in on this summer window.
Recent reports have claimed that Chelsea have been in talks with the winger about a possible move to Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window – but it seems that his mid has been made up about a move to London.
Chiesa is seemingly holding out for a move to Manchester United. That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who add that the 26-year-old feels he could boost his profile by moving to Old Trafford.
And now amid all the speculation and rumours – Saha has come out and encouraged Man United to try and signed the Juventus star – Saha told CSDB.gg: ‘ Manchester United should go and sign Federico Chiesa from Juventus.
‘I love him as a player, he is so passionate and will cause plenty of trouble for the opposition whether he is at the top of his game or not.
‘He always tries to upset the opposition and he would be a great target for United, they have creative players but none that can match what he can do.’

MAGUIRE TOLD TYO LEAVE –
Manchester United icon Louis Saha has claimed that Harry Maguire should head for the exit doors if United sign Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich in the newt few days of the transfer window.
Man United have been linked to alot of players over the past few weeks – but De Ligt is a player that has been mentioned numerous times ever since the news broke that Leny Yoro could be out of action for a good few months of the season.
That has prompted Manchester United to look to sign a new defender – meaning that Harry Maguire would be pushed even further down the pecking order at Old Trafford if De Ligt is signed by the board – which would surely mean his Red Devils career is almost over.
And now – amid all that speculation – Saha has come out and told the England star that he may have to leave United if De Ligt is signed – Speaking to CSDB.gg, he said: “A fresh start will be the best for Harry Maguire
“With Harry Maguire, we know his situation and it hasn’t been easy, sometimes a fresh start is what players need and it could be the best for everybody in this situation.
“He can be important in both boxes but De Ligt can play that role also. De Ligt is a confident player and a leader in his own right, but he has struggled to maintain his form in the years since leaving Ajax.
“Having said that, I think the Premier League is a good fit for him and it will provide him that extra motivation to get back to his very best.
“There is also the surprise element of having him come from abroad so strikers might not know how to play against him.”
